re: Just watched a No-huddle replay of 2007 LSU-Bama. It's amazing that we won that game.

The personal foul penalty with like a minute left and LSU around the 4 or 5 yard line in 2014 still sticks out as an obnoxious example of the SEC refs outright cheating.

My first trip to T-town. Sat in the end zone lower level where Byrd scored right in front of us and amongst the mad locals. T’was great walking out that stadium behind the band.

You can see the ref (Ritter if I remember correctly) just playing to the Bama crowd.

Was at the game, their stadium was electric and the fans thought they didn’t have a chance against us

I went to the Washington at Stanford that day and the score was 17-3 LSU when I left to go to the game. LSU was dominating the game.

When I sa the final score and how LSU won with the Chad Jones sack...I was CONFUSED! Then I saw the penalty difference...They don't even try to hide it.

shite...PP#7 got BOTH feet in bounds

IMO, that game was a microcosm of the entire season. We should have dominated the score but shot ourselves in the foot a ton via penalties (agreed some of those penalties were BS) and blown coverages. Fortunately we were good enough to overcome those mistakes time and Time again. (except for the two OTs). That was my freshman year at LSU; the VTech really spoiled me.

Penalty stat: LSU - 14 for 130. Bama - 2 for 15.

Well bug eyes was the head ref for that game so that stat is expected.

I was there. One of the most exciting games I’ve ever seen in person.

Was in El Salvador on a business trip and my wife had to give me play by play over the phone for the last 5 minutes of the game. That was a hell of a phone bill. I remember her telling me she thought Hester scored at the goal line - I was well did he or didn’t he, damnit!?!

We ended up at a marina for some random event and a boat full of LSU fans randomly pulled up and asked us if we knew the score. We told them the outcome and then drank with that fishing party for half the night. LSU fans are everywhere.

One of my favorite games that I’ve attended no doubt. Was beyond elated to have beaten Saban the first time we faced him, on top of the game itself being insane!

In true Les Miles sloppy fashion, LSU had quite a few turnovers too.

Flynn made three interceptions in that game. Two of them were bad...the last two. If he doesn't make those even with the one sided penalties LSU could have won that game a lot easier IMO. They were killing bama on the LOS.

I think bug eyes is the head of SEC reply in Birmingham.

ETA: never mind, it's not bug eyes any longer. LINK
