Just watched a No-huddle replay of 2007 LSU-Bama. It's amazing that we won that game.

The refs did everything in their power to prevent the outcome.
The Penaltiy discrepancy is outrageous!
LSU got called for a ton of bullshite, some having multiple on one play. Hell, even Hester got an unsportsmanlike for Unnecessary Roughness after he chased down an interception return, and the entire Bamaran up to celebrate, stomping all over him, not allowing him to get up and out the way.
Penalty stat: LSU - 14 for 130. Bama - 2 for 15.
That's the only reason why this game was close. LSU owned TOP: 33:17 to 26:43.
And Total Yardage: LSU - 475, bama - 254.
Rushing: Because John "Sarah Jessica" Parker Wilson got sacked so much (-34 yards), Bama only had 20 Rushing yards total.
But that home cooking though!
***Not positive, but I think the vid linked is on RollTide1987's Youtube page. It only shows the plays, so you don't get to see replays of the Penalties. But it will give you an idea of what Les and the Boys had to overcome in Saban's first year in Tuscaloosa.
REC doin Work!

2 plays stand out in my memory. The 1st was an obvious roughing the passer penalty which extended a Bama drive early in the game which led to a score that kept them in it. LSU was looking to run away with it until then.
The 2nd was the punt return for a td once lsu caught up and had the momentum. Those two plays turned a blowout into a nail biter imo

This?
Yeah...you could say it's Roughing, but not 'obvious' IMO. Could see it getting called or being waved on. It doesn't seem 'obvious' to me. Looks worse in slow-motion, but it's not like he took 3 steps and laid the wood. He pushed the QB right after the ball got out.
He was also falling towards the QB, just got there a tad late.
But what're your thoughts on this Unnecessary Roughness against Hester?
Hester gets stampeded, and taunted. Only he gets penalised.

Yeah I remember the days of 37 minute games.
Good times.

The biggest piece of bullshite in that game was when we were called for a false start in the 4th quarter when our OL shifted inside and reset causing Alabama to jump offside, when Alabama had done literally the exact same thing on offense a couple weeks earlier in the same stadium and the penalty was on the defense (Tennessee).

Now that you mention it...WTH ESPN?
Let me get accurate numbers there. They also this discrepancy under TEam stats: Passing Yards - Bama: Wilson - 234 yards. Team Total - 298.
Only one guy threw a pass for them: Wilson. Only yards is messed up.Every other stat matches up.
Real TOP: LSU - 33:17 Bama - 26:43

Tyson Jackson roughing the passer on third down when we were up 17-3 was a killer

That team was penalized a lot that year if I remember correctly. Thought we ended up being one of the most penalized teams in the country.

They targeted Tyson a lot that year; called him for a bunch of bullshite penalties.
The one on Hester was just straight up REC - just like in 2016 when they made up a number to offset the personal fouls.

Even when Bama sucked the Headquarters kept them close.

Was this due to actual penalties or due to the amount of calls by refs?
