I'm not sure how the race card fits.
Carroll is all black and their season is over
They will claim that never happens to a white school

That’s not the death penalty, you drama filled tweeter. Unless “death” means the rest of this season, then it rises again. Carroll football doesn’t look much like Jesus to me.
I understand not wanting to take away future players in that school district’s ability to participate in football, but this probation should mean that if there is as much as a minor incident in the future, Carroll football is no more.

I think people who jump/gang up on others should be beaten senseless by the cops and maybe have both their arms broken in a way that cripples them.

When’s the last time a white school had a rogue group of players go into a crowd of spectators to fight during or after a game?

I saw on FB they had an emergency meeting at 9pm. The principle said they were gonna fight this and do everything they could to get them back on the field. She’s the root problem for all of this. Within the last 2 years coaches were fighting other fans, then you have this incident to the point where Carrol players are having to get tasered. There’s no accountability from these schools. I’m glad the LHSAA gave them the death penalty. That’s how bad it’s been from Carrol. No one has ever got the Death Penalty from the LHSAA.

There continues to be issues at Carrol. They aren’t getting singled out. The LHSAA is tired of having to rule on incidents that continue to happen there. There’s no institutional control at the school.

It really is embarrassing how tone deaf the culture is... how do you expect the young to act when the f'in "Principal" of all people won't hold these morons accountable!

De facto supporting their behavior.

I guarantee Carroll was on double-secret probation prior to this incident. This isn’t the first time their players and coaches have participated in rogue and dangerous behavior.

why did the LHSAA cancel the rest of AHS's home games? Doesn't seem like AHS deserves that. What did their fans do?

Someone in another thread alluded to them not having bleachers on the visitor's side of their stadium but I can't confirm that.
It seems to me that the school's biggest mistake overall was scheduling Carrol in the first place.

You’re right.
If none of the Assumption team members were involved, then the team shouldn’t be punished. Just ban the fans that were involved.

Additionally, Assumption High School has been assessed a $500 fine and will be required to submit an action plan addressing logistical and administrative procedures for its home contests. Assumption High will also no longer play any home games, with all the games now being played at the opposing school's home site.
"Assumption will not host another home football game for the remainder of the 2026 season," the LHSAA said.

At least one was involved in being ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct in the second quarter, likely lighting the fuse for subsequent problems. I’d guess that that fuse would have been lit by something either way, but that’s impossible to determine without knowing more specifics.
