And, Hanny was wrong to spew this unverified, and undocumented rumor, and feelings of some people that he talks with. He is on the "air" and thusly, he has a responsibility to provide accurate information. Next time he wants to give his opinion, or here-say, he should state that or choose his words more carefully. This may very well be true and "happening", it's just his delivery and timing that people have a problem with, and the then backtracking.

I've said that I think he jumped the gun on this and should not have gone on air with it. I also do not believe he simply ran with a story that he pulled from an internet forum

His source was the fact Cams contract wasn't addressed. It was bubbling around town and he was asked his opinion.

If he has information, it's not as simple as "I've heard he won't be back.". Miles is making the call, the administration is making the call against Miles' wishes, Cameron is retiring due to health, Cameron wants back in the NFL, etc.
Adding those parts to the story would make me have no issue with him going public. It pushes the story forward and let's people evaluate if he's right based on other things. I think yesterday was a dumb time to do it, but that's a separate issue.
Instead, he backtracked into, "it's just my gut feeling but I still really believe it.".
The truth is that Hanagriff make a severe miscalculation in not realizing that people were going to respond the way they did to the news...and then compounded the issue by being unwilling to tell all he knows about the issue. This is not something a guy with his experience should be stepping into.

I think the writing is on the wall for his return to the NFL. LSU can't justify his current salary and I doubt a guy with his ego will accept a drastic pay cut.

Personally, I don't think that's a report you need to make in the middle of NSD, but each to our own.
