They are re-located.

Whoa what? Thats has to be more than 600 seats.

It's a 4 year rotational of which sections are allocated to the visitors. Those are the 4 this year.

They don't relocate entire sections, just a few rows of each section.

And for the SR, it should be 200 seats.

LSU gets hosed in football away games. they put visitors at TS really low in the endzone. When LSU fans go to an away game they sit way up at the top. LSU fans have their share of bein shitted on.

Seriously, after the first 3 posts that tell you that the reason is NCAA RULES, you're STILL crying. You do know your whining will accomplish absolutely zero?

A minimum of 600 seats is guaranteed to Rice. LSU could have offered more if Rice requested, but it was at LSU's discretion to give more than 600.

Don't have the letter in front of me, but I don't think purple seats were included in the 4 year rotational for visitors.

The only teams I can recall doing this are Bama and UT. And some students may have even gotten lower level tickets to those, but I'm not sure.

Im alright with giving them X amount of seats but do they ALL have to be in the grandstand? Seriously? Why cant at least 1 section be in the bleachers?

Different seating levels got different letters. I sit in sec. 212 (gold seats) and my seats are subject to a 6-year rotation.

My letter makes no mention of green or purple seats, nor does it mention the 4-year rotation for green seats. Maybe someone who sits in the purple seats can shed some light...?

And I checked the SR participant manual and yeah, Rice does get 600 seats for the SR. In the regional, each team got 200 seats.

How many of those away tickets are going to wind up on Stubhub or sold higher than face value?

I still havent found where this rule exists.. Can anyone provide a link? How can they say you have to give away a set number of seats when diff stadiums are diff sizes? IF we only sat 1000 people they would require us to give up over half? Is it % based? What is the rule exactly? Or is this NOT a rule and just a part of the bid we put in?

NCAA rules in think

same thing happens here

The worst "seats" I've ever had for any event were at that SR at Rice in 2002 (?). It was the year LSU didn't score a run in either game.

Rice sold a bunch of seats in the outfield which wound up being a grassy strip behind a 6 foot wall! Only about 20 people could actually see a pitch being thrown.

I left after I saw what they gave us, sold the "seats" book on the way out and went to a bar down the street.

Turns out Rice had so many complaints that they refunded my credit card a couple of weeks later. So, I actually profited from the deal.

It was shameful, though.

Here's a better source for that rule; straight from the horse's mouth: NCAA D-1 baseball championship handbook, page 16 of the PDF file
