I wonder if there is a rule against letting a liver tiger loose in the visitors locker room?

rules are made to be broken, besides, what’s the harm in a silly college prank?

Next tiger hopefully we can get a cub and introduce him at a young age. That’s the only way this would fly.

This will never happen so let it drop.

I used to have a job that required me to be in the South End Zone tunnel before games, and I have always felt that visiting teams' recollections of how startled/scared/whatever to see Mike was immensely overstated.

For one thing, Mike's trailer was a veritable fortress. As I recall, there were at least two layers of cage bars between him and anyone who might venture to the edges of the trailer.

For another -- and this is where Gov Landry's argument fails the fact test -- the trailer was not parked directly outside the visiting locker room. It was always parked angularly several feet away from the doors -- maybe 15 or 20 feet.

It's hard to believe anyone could exit the locker room, see that there was a trailer of some sort parked there, and then perceive in half-darkness that there was a live tiger inside that enclosure, much less feel stunned and scared by the sight.

So I'm calling bullshite to the whole "Let's bring back Mike to scare the opponents" notion. It's fiction, created by old people telling tall tales about an aspect of the "tradition" that didn't really exist. Maybe it did during Huey Long days, but in those days they put a chain on Mike's leg and kept him in a concrete jail cell.

You can't be over age 17, right?
Marginally educated?
Live at home.
Minimum wage job?
Leave the tiger alone.
Go to work.

Mike should never have been out of the stadium. Don't buy into all the woke bullshite. 1/2 of America doesn't care about the killing of unborn children but people freak out about a Tiger in a cage that generally lives a life of luxury.

YOU HAVE NO CLUE.

The beauty of social media. Momma’s boy sitting behind his computer in the basement, writing shite you have no clue what or who you are talking about.

Staunch conservative. Bleed red. No mask. Frick PETA and the tree huggers.

You little fan “baws” that need to have Mike in the stadium to have a real game day experience, are exhausting. Grow up.

Why do many fans parrot what politicians say and think? Sad world we live in. Nobody gave a damn about whether or not Mike was in tiger stadium until Jeff Landry said something. Kind of pathetic how some don’t have the ability to think for themselves and just parrot what politicians say.

MAGA calling other cucks is hilarious considering Grindr had to shutdown during the RNC because of too much traffic.

"Cage was so overbuilt you couldn't see Mike anyway"

Thats the reason you build a 1/2 " extra wide plexiglas steel reinforced cage with A/C and audio system so he can see out and fans can clearly see him.

LSU has a multimillion habitat why cant they build it ,put it in his habitat and on mon- wed and sat at 3pm of home games throw some chucks of meat inside and he will love staying inside for the game.

" Build It and Mike will Come"

We've hit the MAGA wall. Fortunately it was cheaply made. Trump was right, but he should have said "Trump could shoot a big fat load out his tiny dick on his supporters on 5th avenue and nobody would care"

He's a cat. There's no guarantee he would do anything.

Look, we have a great new video board. Why don't we use it to have a great intro video and incorporate Mike into that?

Not a recorded Mike, but video live from his habitat. Make it part of the team's entry onto the field.
Have them cross the street (via purple carpet), make a fuss in front of the habitat plexiglas -- maybe even get a rise out of Mike some Saturday night -- and then walk back across to the tunnel and onto the field, all while some dramatic entry music is playing -- "Eye of the Tiger"? -- making it a dramatic pregame routine the way so many other teams do.
TV would love it.. Heck, the players would love it.

We don't have a long walk from our locker room to the field the way other teams have. The locker room is literally a left turn away from the doors.
But I'm sure we could create something unique. Every wedding planner in town has a temporary "tunnel" that the team could walk through while crossing North Stadium Drive.
The game production people could make it something really special -- AND we'd get to make Mike the Tiger part of the pregame again, without upsetting anyone.

Just an idea.

what does that have to do with anything.
Are you saying that the reason we cannot now bring our Tiger into the stadium in a cage is because Tigers are an endangered species?
