Ever heard of Josh Reed, Devery Henderson, or Devin White?

My point is very simply that you've been recruited to play a certain position and as far as you know this is what the coaches think you'll be the strongest at being developed at.

Then something happens and they want you to switch positions. Not because they suddenly think you'd be better at it but because they need you there for roster reasons.

Which doesn't sound like that scenario will always be what's best for the player himself.

it could have been "Ju 'Juan you redshirt unless we have an emergency need for you at CB but we think we have that covered and you'll be an RB in the Spring". Now that things have changed with the injuries you react to the change a little earlier than planned. Sound roster management to me.

How do we know he wasn’t the one who brought it up to the coaches?

And also played DB in the Fiesta Bowl. And Russell Gage was a DB as well before switching to receiver.

Careful you might trigger some people. Even though BK himself has now said we were too predictable and need to be more creative.

What are we recruiting rbs for db for?

he was a LA QB which means he was the most athletic guy in his team and needed the ball in his hand.

Hell, Craig Steltz was a beast at RB at Rummel. 171 yard against Jesuit in the second half in 2003.
