4.45 40-yard dash

That is pretty shocking if accurate. Though he wasn't quite himself for some time due to injuries, there were a few times when he took off and looked faster than I was expecting. Tough and all-around solid player. I hope he can make a team somewhere in the NFL.

It certainly sucked. We probably wouldn't have been as surprised to see these results if we had a decent run scheme.

It was worse than we realized.

I always thought he was an overachieving average athlete but these numbers suggest that he was an average achieving good athlete...

let the downvotes commence.

The vertical is even more impressive.

Guy is built well. He's got plenty of wiggle. His speed is well above average. 42" suggests elite explosiveness. He's a great blocker...above average receiver. He had productivity in the SEC.

What are the knocks on him at this point?

I guess you can say average film and vision.

But he's made himself some money. Someone mentioned McVey, but Sean Payton and Andy Reid would use the shite out of this guy as well. And a few others.

Had a 42 inch vertical which would have been the third highest of any running back ever at the combine.

You talking about JD5? The clip was the winning drive in OT vs Bama

Hope that he makes it to the NFL and has a successful career. Guy beat the odds already going from walk-on to D1 starter at RB.

Seems like he’d make a good core ST and 3rd down back.

Run blocking was pitiful.

JW is going to make a team very happy next year. He is the type of guy who will play in the league for as long as he wants with his drive.

PS. Watching that Bama game video makes me happy that Sage Ryan is gone. It seems his "highlights" are always him getting schooled and throwing up his hands.

Agree. And LSU Pro Day times have a long history of being "generous".

Limited (or so I thought) talent, but works his arse off and is a great team player. If he can play ST, he will make a roster

Love to see it.

Also explains why we liked giving him the rock. Strong, vertical/broad jump explosive and ran a 4.45.

Some of those runs he busted make more sense now lol.

Yes yes yes man I hope he has a long NFL career.

And is there any doubt after he last snap at LSU he started prepping for Pro Day? Watch his vertical in slo mo, that should be the demonstration video of perfect form for that event.

I hope the Bengals can draft him.

Josh made that downfield block to open up that lane for him.

Pulling for the kid—nothing but grit & determination took him from walk-on to NFL prospect.

I definitely think he will stick in the NFL, even if goes UDFA route. TDP wasn’t super flashy in college but made the NFL. Josh seems to have the temperament to excel on special teams - will run out there and crush people
