Dug up and old Advocate article. Lockridge had a stress fracture flare up.

More than likely; yes, it is. When referring to a "stress reaction in the back", they usually are referring to the Spondylolytic Spondylolisthesis (stress fracture of the pars interarticularis), which is most commonly occurring in the pars of the L5 vertebrae.

These things vary in nature. I've treated many cases of this, and most make a fairly quick and strong recovery. Although, we all remember, Lockridge unfortunately did not make such a successful recovery. I had one case in an All-American defensive lineman, whom came to see me one month before the NFL combine. We got him well, and he was able to participate in all combine events, and subsequently got drafted, and played in the NFL for a while. He didn't even fail one single medical examination conducted on him prior to the draft.

Let's all agree to pray for, and support Josh while he battles through this. Hopefully he can make a quick and strong recovery.

I stand corrected. Hopefully this is why he didn't play too well on defense last weekend.
