His reasoning? Transfer Portal use could be better and internal alignment isn’t there. I know all of the BK memes mention getting aligned, but does anyone have an idea of what he means?
Maybe he means as far as nil usage. Differing opinions on how to build a roster.
I don't think it's crazy for lsu to be around 11. Should be a little higher but nil might hold them back a tad.
We have seen lsu lose players over nil. Either not enough/not upping the bid.

It does. I'd love to hear him expand on Kelly and what he means by what he said.
Has to be about nil.

It also takes more to win in football than things that we see daily. I've hears multiple times that Kelly is as cerebral as anyone when it comes to Xs and Os. If he were to get the right combination of assistants, then LSU could take off. Losing Denbrock sucked, but he wasn't willing to pay of forward, so frick him and we moved on. He wasn't aligned. Things can be very hit or miss with a coach like Kelly. He does everything intentionally, and sometimes those intentions are thwarted
Denbrock was fine but very vanilla. He looked a lot better by having an all-star cast on offense.

I like Pate but this is some poor reasoning.
Bama - He says that has where they would be if Saban was still there. So no drop off, ok.
Oklohama - Too much belief in Venables. He's still not proven.
Michigan - probably a decent spot for now. However his discussion is more reason to drop them then put them top 10
A&M - Elko didn't prove shite in the ACC.
Miami above Clemson? Come on

I respect Josh a lot his in season bets are spot on. BUT having OU ahead of anyone is laughable at best. They will get destroyed in the SEC.

Him openly shilling for Alabama over FSU
That makes sense because he grew up and is a Bama fan.
The A&M stuff I just will never get. For far too long they've been hyped for what they "could be" but they never became that no matter who they hire or how much money they throw at the problem they've been the same program since I was a child and they were still in the MWC. An average program that will occasionally string together a good season or two sprinkled in but never good enough to win anything of significance.
They have yet to win nary a conference title since the turn of the millennium. At some point the benefit of the doubt can no longer be given and you end up in "I'll believe it when I see it" status. But they're still given it, and I think it's because Pate is buddy buddy with Liucci.

The landscape of college football has been drastically altered. Everyone is now in uncharted territory. With the portal and immediate eligibility teams will not be able to stockpile talent like BAMA did for years. The projected top teams seems accurate with their rankings fluctuating for a number of reasons like injuries, schedule strength, transfers in and out, unfortunate or fortunate breaks affecting close games ( LSU probably beats Ole Miss last season if not for the perfect vicious tackle causing Jayden to fumble) and a team having a dream season ( like Missouri last season). LSU has a reasonable chance to be in the playoffs all three years and will likely be in the top four one year, the middle group another and the last four in a third year. Once they are in the playoffs then anything can and will happen.

I can’t take anyone that puts A&M and Oklahoma ahead of LSU serious, so I quit reading after that.

Reading the tea leaves, it sounds like BK had some transfers he wanted to lock in and couldn’t get the NIL money to do so.
Kelly has stated already that he will not get into a bidding war with any player. Personally, I understand and I have no problem with. Can you imagine the backlash of paying that type of money to what some portal players and high school recruits are asking and what that could do to your locker room with players that are already on your team.
I get that other schools like Oregon and the Texas's are going to fork out the money and pay them. Let's see how that all works out in the end.
For the record I like Josh Pate but I think he is way off here!

The only sec programs I 100% agree with being ahead of us in his ranking is Georgia, Texas, and Alabama.
Texas needs to establish consistency and Bama is replacing the goat coach. So those aren’t set in stone imo.
I believe his A&M love has to do with his good relationship with TexAgs and Bill Lucci.
The only national programs I agree with being over lsu is Ohio state and maybe Oregon.
So lsu should be in the 5-7 range imo.

maybe it's an NIL thing who knows

He’s full of shite is what he is. Always talking about the “good of the sport” then goes and openly strokes for a non deserving team and got all pissy when people rightly called his arse out about it. And he was a condescending dickhead about it as well.
He’s no different than Greg McElroy.

Not that ridiculous as others are making it out to be. Any projection between 5-10 is reasonable, so not far off. We have our share of unknowns.
Will our D be good enough this year?
Will Nuss be good enough this year?
Oline recruiting has been good past couple of cycles, but will be young next year. Offense will be solid with the talent we are bringing in and will give us a chance to be very good.
Dline recruiting has been sub-standard. This past few days was a big step, but we have had lots of misses. More misses than hits. Do we keep Stewart at home next year? I have faith in Bo Davis, but we need more talent here.
Missed on best chance to get the next Perkins at LBer ( Collin Simmons). Whit Weeks looks like a young stud, but will need someone else to step up.
DB recruiting has been so-so. Missing on top guys.

He doesn’t know shite.
Kelly flat out said “we’re not paying a million dollars for every single player out there.”
That’s not an “internal alignment issue.” That’s having a strategy and sticking with it.
He never said they weren’t going to be in the portal, never said they weren’t going to pay where necessary and fairly. But we’re not going to just toss cash around at random 19 year olds who weren’t all that great at their previous stop.

So lsu should be in the 5-7 range imo.

He doesn’t know. Internal alignment is of the least concern with this program with Brian Kelly has the HC.
Also, why is this thread anchored?
