One of the reasons I think Jordy is freaking out as much as he is…there are rumors of a mass exodus on defense to the portal by many of our younger more talented players who could not see the field here. Seeds of doubt and discontent sowed partially by lack of playing time and dislike of House and then by other staffs in the SEC trying to get them to hop into the portal with promises of more NIL and playing time. I have full confidence Kelly will be able to take a hold of situation once the season is over but it is something to monitor.

I don’t think he’s waiting around. His recent comment about focusing on retaining our players first before looking at the portal seems to be a clear sign that they know they have work to do. If he can at least get players to hold off on the first window and give the new DC and staff through Spring, then at least we will have a fighting chance to keep most, if not all of them.

I hope not. They need to purge this defensive staff immediately after the A&M game and get a proven and trusted DC as soon as possible. There's some rumors about some of the younger defensive guys going to the portal. I haven't listened to Jordy's show but that's probably what he's mad about. It's just rumors, but it's troubling.
