Was seen on crutches at the TAF annual banquet last night. Anyone hear anything?

There hasn't really been much coverage of anything. And I think the practices have been of the unofficial, "voluntary" variety until today.

Media day is this week I think. And scrimmages start Friday.

I would hope if the Advocate is mentioning it that they would follow up and actually report on it. But that could just be pissing in the wind.

Still 4 weeks until the season starts. Unless it's an ACL or other ligament damage, he should be in good shape by the start of the season I would think.

Bianco back to SS
I actually think Cranford had a decent fall so if he has to replace him temporarily he will be fine defensively
Simon missed the fall
Merrifield could be another option if he has to miss time

Title of this thread says the advocate. So that’s what my guess is.

Non weight bearing can mean a lot of things….let’s hope he is okay, don’t know if this fan trusts a Bianco, in any LSU BB role. Manieri really had delusions about that deal…..so grateful PM is no longer in charge!!!

Doughty even worked some at SS in the fall. Not the ideal answer, but it sure would open the door for our best offensive lineup.

Defensively I trust Bianco to be serviceable at every position in the field. Wouldn’t want him to be the every day starter but I am ok with him being a spot starter for a player on a day to day injury and be a late game defensive replacement most of the time.

probably sprained his ankle. Just being cautious leading up to the start of the season.

at least that's what i hope.

I wouldn't be too concerned about this. While it sucks, we have some good depth in the infield. One would think Merrifield could easily slide in.

they put them on crutches for any type of lower leg or foot injury. Could just be a sprained ankle. Most of the time its totally precautionary to promote faster healing

I think Doughty is the back up. Merrifield would either slide in at 2b or 3b depending on how much shuffling they're looking to do.

I mean, he was one of our better hitters at the end of last year. He raised his average from like .100 to .250 in the second half of the season. If he builds on that he is absolutely going to have a role in the lineup.
