Miller to LSU makes the team a legitimate contender next year. You can' t say that with either Jennings or Harris at this point.

OMG I bet most of the thirsty bastards on this board salivating for Miller were talking about him being a system QB or running back playing QB prior to this year. This board makes me sick with how desperate it becomes.

Do you even know if Miller can still throw as well as he did before? Let's not even go into the fact that this IS NOT a wide open spread option offense. Miller ran a lot because he couldn't read defenses worth a flip, yet he is going to come here, learn Cam's system in a few months, arm is going to magically heal, and stay healed, and he's going to be able to read SEC defenses after a year off from football?

Are you really taking that over Harris improving in a system and league that he has already played some and practiced an entire year in?

F**k that noise.

You're mostly right...however I'd err on the side of a pass this year because it appears at least on the surface that we at least have a chance to tie the NFL draft this year and not get our asses beat by it. If that is the case we really could be a QB away from the playoffs. Although I will agree I'm not real sure that I'm ready to anoint Braxton Miller as the answer.

Did the Saints know that Drew Brees could throw as well as before his shoulder injury when they signed him? The Miami Dolphins were convinced he couldn't, and they passed on Brees.

if miller wants to come to LSU, they should take him. they lost two QB's this year and he could be a stop gap of some sort.

For his skill set, Oregon is a much better fit. If he wants to prepare for the NFL, LSU is a much better fit.

Please don't tear my head off for asking this but why would miller be transferring in the first place? Why all the talk about him transferring?

Here is what I would prefer to happen at LSU.

Option 1
Our coaches make a decision publicly and back one of our 2 QBs 100%. Then we develop that QB to run the system we want. If they can't run the system then we put them in a system that they can run.

Option 2
If this doesn't and probably won't happen. Then I think 1 year with Braxton is a good option. We have a good opportunity to make a push next year and have 2 solid backups if his durability becomes an issue.

Miles will still start Jennings, so it doesn't matter.

He could lose both his legs and his draft stock wouldnt suffer as much as playing for LSU would. Oh and he cant come here.

Wait I keep reading on here it takes at least two years to learn our offense. So if miller only has one year left why would we go down this path?

It would be better for him to come to LSU if he is trying to prepare for the NFL, but he is not a pro quarterback IMO. He might make a roster as a third QB if he is lucky. He is a good college QB and that is it. For these reasons I think it would be best for him to go to Oregon.

How's the Cardale Jones/JT Barrett competition going to play out? Aren't they sophomore and freshman, respectively?

No that I want him but if we did the REC would never ever ever allow this.

I think he would do well in this offense, he can make progressive reads and was not afraid to throw the ball. Would be a steal for LSU. Hell if he cant throw he can prob keep a lid on the emotions of the two young Qb's.
