I can't say I'm happy or sad. However, from everything I've heard from this kid, someone seriously f*cked with his head. There was an interview before the BCSNCG where he talked about "showcasing my talents for the NFL" so that he could be "top draft pick". At the time, I just laughed. Even as late as last week he was talking about getting his shot to be like Payton, Eli and Dan Marino.

As I was watching the BCSNCG, I kept shaking my head thinking back to his "showcasing my talents". Instead of laughing, I was pretty much crying wondering why the hell is Les putting us through this.

In short, this kid has sucked his entire career at LSU. LSU won in spite of this kid. He should have had some degree of self awareness and someone should have set him straight. I wouldn't doubt if he had a draft party. I hope this release put some semblance of reality in this kid's brain.

Really sad that this thread has got this long. I sure hope recruits don't see how hateful some tiger fans can be to a kid that played for us

goes without saying there are very few fence sitters with this issue, gray area is small if it exists at all. Cant we just move on? Will we have to endure this next season? Year after next? Geesh, time to move on!

Mad about what? I said all year JJ has no chance in the NFL. Same with JL.

JL actually has a great chance to make it. He is actually a good quarterback.

I wouldn't go as far as saying "should," I don't want to tell anyone how to do their job but these threads are getting out of hand IMO.

Every day there's a new thread dumping on the kid.

I think the main problem with most fans is the kids blatant arrogence that is not warrented from his play, although he played hard and no problem with his effort in any of the games which his record is outstandaing but he NEVER NEVER mentions the TEAM always I, I and I! I would not pull against him but just not a big fan and then the fight? I don't know, just glad that era is over and look forward to Mett; all the way to Miami baby!

Oh stop it. Everytime someone posts something like this, I wonder how old you are. Do you seriously think that no other fan base does/would do the same exact thing?

couldnt argue with that assesment, given the unprecedented way the mnc unfolded. But there must come a point when we move on

Roaad has a serious hard on for JJ.
I am supportive of all former Tigers not named Joey Belle.

I am unsurprised that you lack such faculties.

He, among others, will make excuses for that pathetic QB all day.

I support anyone that plays for LSU.

I backed Lee early in the season, too. My post history fleshes that out. I have no regrets.

C'mon Roaad, it was zero percent. Jefferson had no shot at the NFL.

The timing says otherwise.

Not saying it was the reason, but a borderline guy facing a lawsuit for otf issues? With Goodell as the commish?

I have to think it had some bearing. My question was simply how much? 1%? 10%?

None at all.

I would appreciate some examples, if you think there are.

Especially not a top-10 team.

I don't think there are any examples, because what went on over the past two seasons at LSU is unprecedented.

Never has a QB at a high level school been allowed to play so badly for such long periods of time by the head coach without losing his job to any of the other QBs on the roster.

JJ has become a disliked player by the fanbase largely because of the way Miles handled the QB situation. Not just who got to play, but also the way Miles constantly tried to build confidence in JJ, despite his poor play. JJ bought into the idea that he had great talent and was playing well, despite every measure of QB play saying otherwise.

Despite all of this, JJ then threw Miles under the bus after the the big game.

Miles should get a lot of the credit for the way fans view JJ, and JJ gets the rest.

I would argue that had JJ-gate happened at UF, Bama, Mich, etc. over the past 2-3 years, their fanbases would be reacting very similarly to the LSU fanbase.

You don't remember JJ lost the starters job for the 1st 10 weeks of the season and only got it back after the guy who started the 1st 9 games completed 3 passess for 20 yds with 2 ints and had a effic. rating of 15 in the most important game of the regular season?

The guy is gone...let it go.

Agreed. These threads do nothing but make everyone revisit, mostly, JJ's bad moments.

It's not healthy.

Let's focus on this season's team and quit dumping on the kid.

Just don't let him near the Mississippi River. He's liable to miss his target and cause a levy to break, flooding all of Baton Rouge.
