We got embarrassed by a team we already beat earlier in the season.

Hes gonna be gone next year. Woody is praying it works out, but it's not going to. He's just decreasing the buyout and praying they're respectable enough to not be the laughing stock of the SEC next season. At this point it's just about saving a buck or two.

But LSU is not really saving anything.

They are paying McMahon for next season whether he coaches or not. The only "savings" is the equivalent of paying 2 coaches (McMahon and the new HC) for 3 season (after MM is let go after next year) instead of 4 (if he were let go after this year).

I still have no idea where this purported increased NIL funding is coming from, why it hasn't been there for the past 3 years, and why the increased funding can't just be used to fund the buyout rather than unnecessarily prolong the inevitable for another year. LSU did this with both Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones when it was clear it was time for a change...with predicable results.

You miss spelled Curly Hallman. Unless you were alive to witness the Curly disfunction then you have no idea what you are talking about.

One thing I will say about Jones is that he actually took a squad he recruited to the tournament. That’s more than what McTimid can say.

In his tournament year, Jones had 4 NBA players on the same team in a very weak SEC.

He then took a team with 5 NBA players, including the number 1 overall pick and top 10 (I would say 5) most talented player in school history and finished with a worse record than the year before. Oh, and he got those players through no credit of his own. He can thank his lucky stars that Ben Simmons' god father was on staff. We never ran an offense. We had no sets. We had no identity at all under Jones.

McMahon, for all of his faults, is coaching in the SEC when it's better than it's ever been by a long shot. His first year was an expected disaster, his second year we saw marked improvement, and then in his third year he has bad injury luck and and a poorly constructed roster with a team that can't close out games. Those are coaching errors he must fix.

With all that being said, McMahon is a much, much better coach than Jones. I don't think people here realize the difference in talent level the conference has now compared to 10 years ago. At that point in time, the SEC was, at best, the 4th best power basketball conference. Now it's clear cut number 1.

Yeah, LSU has a history of hiring inept coaches. As well as ADs.

You can’t be serious?

The SEC in the 1990s had 3 national champs, appeared in 5 national championship games, had 9 final 4 appearances by 4 different schools. This era is nowhere near that

when they win tonight, you, cuckking, and Drittz should all form a pact to off yourself. Then you wouldn't have to put yourself through this every game, nor us.

And they think everything will be solved with more NIL money. If your coach sucks it doesn’t matter.

Yep, there were some things in the middle of the SEC schedule last year that gave me some hope....some signs of development and improvement, but the way we finished - getting spanked in the SEC tourney by a team we finished ahead of in the standings then the utterly embarrassing loss at home in the NIT in front of a smaller crowd than last nights.....kinda took most of that hope away.

It’s not about the winning or lack there of. People who were not old enough or alive to see the disfunction of the Curly Hallamn era cannot comprehend how bad it was. It really deserves a thread of its own.

Trent never had a chance because Colis "slumlord" Temple hated him and kept players away.

The General was 105 - 51 and got fired just to save football. Granted Wade should not have been doing the talking but still Pearl and Calipari are still coaching. Heck Kansas won the whole thing the same year Wade got fired with the same level of violations.
