Was listening to his post-game interview this morning on 104.5 and he didn't have one criticism of the team. All he did was praise Tennessee about how well they shot the ball.
It seems like JJ does this a lot: constantly praises the other teams, points out what we did well, but VERY RARELY points out what we did wrong.
Is he trying to be nice by not calling out players publicly? It seems like he's unwilling to admit we simply were outplayed and out-coached....

Well, if he needs help learning how to be more critical of his team, then he should head over to Mainieri's office.

It's not like Jones didn't know the team sucked arse last night.

Maineri is hated for being too blunt, but Jones is criticized for taking the fall. it's a lose-lose situation for all LSU head coaches

He is the anti PM. I don't think he needs to call out individual players for things other than lack of effort but he should call the team out as whole for horrible play like last night. He might also feel like he can't call martin or mickey out without them shutting down because they aren't mentally tough.

but seriously, this is a dumb thing to complain about; not trashing his kids in the media. I'd rather he hold people accountable for their mistakes (outside of yanking Patterson last night)

I think he wants to, but he can't. TQ and Patterson both had very bad games, but there's only one other guard on the roster. Can't pull both.

Well I really meant Martin and Mickey gave up their umpteenth offensive rebound (13 for Tenn btw)

You could if you played with two guards instead of three. Hornsby and Gray with either Bridgewater, Epps, Odo, Malone, or Robinson. Heck, throw in Eddlestone.

LSU didn't lose that game last night, Tenn. won it. Their effort was outstanding from the tip, and they shot nearly 70% in the second half. I don't need Johnny Jones to tell me about the problems with his team, just fix them. However, it would be bullshite to discount Tennessee's play and effort last night. They deserved to win that game

Maybe he doesn't know what we're doing wrong. That might explain why he rarely uses TOs: he doesn't know what to change to make it work.

I agree Tenn was on fire but the effort LSU has last night was piss poor. Looked like Hornsby was the only one who wanted to be there.

That makes it even worse from LSU's perspective . When a team shoots 70% that means they are getting a lot of points in the paint which Tenn got last night. With a 6'10" guy and a 6'8" shot blocker, no way Moore should have been making easy lay ups like he did. The Tennessee forwards were practically taking up residence up close to the basket and then had Martin and Mickey constantly trying to pick up their own underwear. Towards the end, it almost felt like Martin was letting them through.

Personally I would like it if at least one of our big men was nasty and made people pay for driving and getting in too close.

Ok Tenn. played well, but lets not get carried away here. It was Hornsby vs the entire Tennessee roster.

And if the roles were reversed would people be in here discounting LSU's performance by saying that Tenn. lost the game? Hell no, everyone would be in here talking about how great LSU was last night. I guess LSU didn't really do anything to really "win" the first game, UT simply just "lost" it by their poor play.

Tenn. WON THE GAME because they out-hustled, out-coached, out-executed, out-everythinged LSU.

It was an arse KICKING because LSU played with no effort and executed horribly on both sides of the ball.

The team needs to be held accountable for the way they played last night. SUCKED! I seen better church league teams! Come on Football! Base ball great.

publicly ridicule his team? for what? your satisfaction?

you have no clue what happens behinds closed doors. I dont have a problem with him praising a team that shot 70fricking% for the night. many of those three's were off balance sprinting off screens with a hand in the face. UT ran an exceptionally technical offense last night and executed it well

Worst of all, LSU was out-hustled on a night when their motors should have been at an all-time high. The underdogs sensed early on that there was little fire in the Tigers, other than poor Keith Hornsby who always brings it. Very disappointing effort. It's one thing to lose or be upset but it's another thing entirely to see such a lack of effort and desire in such a critical game.
