Yep....and they aren't spending their summer's watching games in the Valley League or wasting their time wondering about the guys that were too chickenshit to go to the Cape League.

Has Dean ever played 1st in his life? He has to get in better shape and get his arm fixed or it isn't worth him coming back to begin with, and if he does those things he is probably a much better outfielder.

We have plenty of corner infielders, not many outfielders.

I've been saying all season that Dishon was the real shite. He got hurt and everybody seemed to forget about him. He was a beast two years ago in mop up and still is.

ss from tulane drafted in 3rd round, cant hit a lick

?? I think he hit like 360 this year with about 40 stolen bases.

FWIW, A scout told me at one of the games that Dishon was one of the most impressive players during workouts.

PM is not the type of guy that would go back on his word. Do you understand how bad that would hurt him in recruiting? Everyone around knows that if Dean comes back, it's b/c he was promised that he would play a position. I can guarantee you that Dean will play a position for 85% of the regular season.

Now the postseason is different. If he hasn't been playing a good first base through the year, then I believe PM would start him at DH in the postseason.

I just wanted to make sure I understand where you're coming from in the original quoted comment.

Since Schimpf played in the Valley league last Summer, you are saying no scouts saw him play and they didn't wonder about him because he may have been too chickenshit to play in the Cape?

The chickenshit comment was a response to another poster that said he didn't think a good hitter should ever go to the Cape League because he could only prove that he could NOT hit. The comment about scouts not watching the Valley League was a relative generalization. Sure there are scouts watching the Valley League...but I guarantee you there aren't nearly as many and they aren't the organization's top scouts.
I don't know why Schimpf went to the Valley League instead of the Cape. I would guess that he ended up in the Valley League because he was not invited to play in the Cape League and not because he was chickenshit.

The Cape League is like the NFL Combine. The Valley League is like Pro Day at an ACC campus in Virginia. You don't see too many football players refusing to go to the combine unless it's for an injury....and if there is something that they chose not to participate in at the combine, unless an injury is the reason, very often it is because they have a flaw they want to hide.

Maineri has already promised Dean a position if he comes back. 1st. base is the logical spot.

Landry is faster and more experienced than Mahtook, so he would logically play CF.

I would not be so quick to take Mahtook's job away. He gets better jumps off the bat than Landry and that can make up for speed.... FWIW, I don't think that Landry is much faster than Mahtook. Not enough to make a difference for sure.

Like he did this year whenever Mahtook and Landry were in the field together?

There will be an open competition, but I don't see how it's logical to think Landry is the choice at CF because of speed and experience when Mahtook was in CF as a freshman instead of Landry.

Dude, you say some of the most retarded garbage I've ever read.

Why would it be logical for Landry to play center when Mahtook won the position early in the season and never let it up?

Immature college geek logic, I'm sure.
