I agree with your thesis but I hope we’re both wrong. The corner stores are what boosted the hobby and they’re gone. I’m 34 and I lost interest once I could no longer find a local shop to congregate at.

For me was the flea market at Broadmoor every Saturday morning and the card shop on Sherwood Forrest. As I got older at the end of my 8th grade year, I just lost interest because all my friends weren’t collecting anymore. I still have my cards and put the best ones on display.

I'm with you there. I still enjoy collecting as a hobby but can't even find them at the stores anymore - WalMart is always out of stock and Target quit carrying them because people were fighting over them (which might be a good sign for their future value ). Seems the only way I can get them is to overpay for them online. Kind of taking the fun out of it.

These give me happy memories of all the weekends going to the card store and trading cards with my friends in school.

I took my son to the card store on Sherwood by the interstate a few weeks ago and the other one on Sherwood by airline and the quality of cards they have now are terrible. I was very disappointed. One even told me that I was better off buying on Ebay.

Why would one go for 40k and one 2k when they are both psa10?

It also depends on the type of card and name brand.

I have Tom Brady Bowman Chrome rookie and if I could get $40k for it I'd sell it tomorrow.

They have to be PSA graded 10 to get that kind of money. PSA 9 can get you some good money too though

JB9 rookies are at an all time high right now. I've got a bunch of his base cards, nothing fancy, but I have a ton of really cool autos from other players on the 2019 squad

They will have some value. The problem for you here is that cards these days are mass-produced. It’s a very diluted market.

I bought my daughter all kinds of signed stuff that year for Christmas. It will never be sold. I can tell you that.

But, but, but what about my signed and numbered Joe Burrow LSU jersey I have under glass and frame hanging on the wall?

Should I wear it to the Super Bowl or leave it be?

Dumbest thing I've read all day. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Im finally making a killing off of his rookie cards. Probably have about 200 or so. As soon as I list 'em they sell. Think I'm gonna hold off until after he wins the SB to sell more. All they are gonna do is go UP in value after he gets that ring and hardware.

Flusheretiger or whoever you are. YOU are the one who has NO clue what they are talking about. Panini is trying to make as much money as they can BEFORE Fanatics takes over. That is why Select, Mosaic, and many other products continue to be new posts at online retailers and in stores. They are ABSOLUTELY being OVERPRODUCED. And for someone to say they are not, just shows how misinformed they are. You must be a fair weather collector. I do this as a business.

I tried to sell some cards from early 1970’s of like super stars, even some early rookie cards from 1970’s they weren’t worth the trouble. These things are massed produced.
I’d talk with a card collector and get some answers.
