Any running game at all would make Sloan look great. It’s just nonexistent.

I’m telling you, I don’t think they put a premium on it, I don’t think they make it a priority. Look at Kelly’s history since he’s been in D1, has he ever had a very good running game?

Kelly's running game is built around a running QB

We had a great running game last year

Nuss has actually not played that great in SEC games. 53% completion with 7 TDs and 6 ints.

We couldn’t run the ball with our running backs to save our lives last year.

It was all Jayden scrambling.

That isn’t sustainable.

It worked quite well, so I don't know how you could say it isn't "sustainable", considering Jayden sustained it all season

Logan Diggs along with Jayden were at one point 1st & 2nd in the SEC in explosive runs last year lol

Jayden was the damn Heisman winner. Jayden Daniels don’t grow on trees. And with Jayden Daniels, LSU still lost three games.

Bottom line, you have to be able to run the ball with your running backs too.

You don't have to, obviously.

We didn't lose 3 games last year due to our running game.

And just to compare and show how much having a running QB helps the RBs, LSU RBs accounted for 1500 yards last season. JD had 1100 yards himself, for a total of 2600 rushing yards as a team.

Our RBs currently are on pace to account for 1300 yards and hardly no yards from the QB.

Why are we developing OC’s?

If he secures the best qb prospect since Cam Newton....fine.

But in general, no. I agree.

Wrong. Diggs had almost 700 yards rushing and 5.5 ypc last year. He only played in 10 games and missed parts of some that he played in due to injury. This is another Rant myth.

Having Daniels with him definitely helped the run game, but Diggs ran plenty of inside zone without read options and made consistent, solid yardage.

Would you say our rushing attack since Kelly has been here has been particularly good then?

It was spotty in year one with a patchwork OL with two true freshmen, but it was pretty solid last year, though. If you had put Durham in last years offense, holy shite. Diggs and Williams did their jobs, but neither is close to being elite.

How many times did we see this Saturday?

1st down - Long pass play incomplete
2nd down - Run for little to no gain
3rd down - Throw for 14 yards incomplete

We had the #11 rushing offense last year and top 40 in 2022, so yes

It is obviously not very good this year, because like I said earlier, Kelly's offenses are built around mobile QBs

Is it Sloans fault Nuss doesn’t dump the ball to Williams on this 3rd & 2?

Nuss routinely does this. He will throw it downfield for an incompletion when there are players open underneath.
I get what you're saying in regards to dumpoffs, but Williams is not open for easy first here...

Ball snapped from the 21, needs to get to the 23. When JW sneaks out the front of the line and clears the edge rusher spying/strafing across, he's at the 18 and eventually settles at the 20. While that is happening, the OL parts like the Red Sea and 2 defenders are free rushing to Nuss, all while the boundary corner has shifted his momentum downhill to crash down on JW from the 27. Nuss makes that dumpoff and JW gets HAMMERED by the CB well short of the sticks (if he can even hang on to it)

He has no plan because he has never been an OC and doesn't get that aspect of play calling. There is zero setup. It is basically Xbox pick a play gameplanning.

That’s an easy 1st down if the ball gets to Williams timely.

Please state the exact moment in that clip that it would be a timely pass to JW. Like frame by frame, second by second. Please tell me.

When Williams turns & offers himself as a receiving option?

Not sure what I’m missing here
