re: Joe Brady compares Burrow to Brees

He compared his LEADERSHIP, not him as a QB. Totally disrespectful to Drew of you to do this. Guy is a once in a lifetime QB.
And yes, Brees is a Hall of Fame level QB. No one is saying Burrow's skill set is now at Brees' (and neither was Brees' as a college Senior)
However, at the college level of competition, Brady is saying, "And I know every single time we step onto the field this fall, we have the opportunity to win with Joe Burrow." THAT is saying a lot when a team plays in the SEC West.

Burrow has so much heart and toughness. He’s a great Tiger

I said it before and ill say it again, i wish we had 2-3 more years of Burrow. The dude is just a tough SOB and back it with the perfect amount of confidence and arrogance!

No, that is not saying a lot. It’s actually saying very little. LSU could go .500 in the SEC this year, losing no game by more than 7 points, and the statement above could be true. And it would be an abject failure of a season.
Having a chance to win is not what we’re aiming at. That’s what Vandy aims for. I’m glad to have Joe Burrow. I think he gives us very competent experienced QBing and leadership. He’s is in the top 20 - maybe top 10 - of QBs in college football. That’s what we need to have a solid shot at winning championships.

Are you suggesting championships are the standard?

Burrow's brain and competitive instincts would make him a great Drew follow up. I want Burrow to be the next QB in SaintsTown.

Dude usually I don't mind your posts like other do.. but this was NOTHING but positive talk. I think you're really reaching here man.. no one is saying anything bad about Joe. At all..

Great take by coach Brady, but the title is misleading. He compared his leadership to Brees. That’s where it ended.

Ten losers downvoted.

I really like joe burrow and think he’s a solid quarterback but I almost can’t stand reading anything about him because as soon as the first person says they don’t think burrow is a first ballot lock nfl hall of famer, buckeye jeaux immediately comes in like a wrecking ball a-hole and shits on the thread. I’m pretty sure burrow is the type of guy that probably hates people like buckeye jeaux irl.

And we’ve now finally come full circle. I knew it would only be a matter of time

quote:No. Brady said nothing about Burrow's skills being limited to "leadership". That's like saying your blind date "has a great personality".

Burrow is a Top-5 college QB, and many major sports media sources now have him rated there or very close.
Joe Brady didn't stutter. He paid Burrow a high complement. Brady does't need TD Debbie Downers to rewrite and marginalize what he said about Joe Burrow.

He specifically mentioned moxy and makeup, nothing more. No one is being a debbie downer.

The similarities are endless. Glad to see Burreaux getting the recognition he deserves

BTW, in 2000, Brees QB'd Purdue into a 3-way tie for the Big-10 Championship. But a Brees Purdue team never had better than a 4-loss season. And Brees had a 60.4% completion percentage the title year.

You can infer what you want from it, the other people you’re bitching about are just discussing what he actually said.

Nobody EVER has anything but positive things to say about Burrow. I've never once heard somebody say that they didn't think Burrow couldn't lead LSU to every single goal we hope to accomplish.
Buckeye Ree's delusion is what people argue with. He takes positive stuff about Burrow and spins it out of control. The dude is ridiculous and has no business being here honestly. He brings nothing but negativity towards LSU, and ironically Burrow.

Brady saying that Joe has “it”.
Surely he has not reached his ceiling. It will be interesting to see how he develops at the next level.
Out of curiosity, can some post Brees’ stats from his Sr year at Purdue?

This isn't totally fair to point at Purdue's record and Brees' numbers at Purdue. Purdue is not LSU. Purdue doesn't have the expectations that LSU has. Burrow can put up numbers better than Brees at Purdue, but I doubt he will ever be Drew Brees. It's ok to not speak of them in the same breath, but still think Burrow is fully capable of leading LSU to a playoff appearance and SEC title.
