I've come to the conclusion JA doesn't care if LSU Women's Hoops wins or loses..
As long as they don't recruit lickety split.

He doesn't care if any LSU athletic program wins or loses. That's a big part of the problem with him at the wheel.
Alleva needs to go now. Actually he should've been gone a while back.

Alleva also said Tennessee has not contacted him to request a chance to speak with Fargas for its vacant head coaching job
I also have not been contacted and I probably would be before she ever was.

Why in the world would Tenn contact Joe about Fargas? Who the heck asked Joe such a stupid question? Are they trying to psyche tenn out and get them to take her off our hands or something?

Because she is a Tennessee alum and as of 2 days ago, Tennessee has an opening for a head women's basketball coach.

Nikki’s greatest advantage in keeping her job is no one cares about women’s basketball.

Anybody got any more of them wiretaps?

Alleva also said Tennessee has not contacted him to request a chance to speak with Fargas for its vacant head coaching job. Tennessee fired Holly Warlick on Wednesday after seven seasons.
Old Joe is probably working on an extension, raise and buyout plan as we speak.

Why would Tennessee want Fargas?
Posted on 3/30/19 at 9:46 am to Tigerbait357
She should feel like an idiot, because if she weren’t so lazy she probably would have gotten to go back to her alma mater and coach.
Now Tennessee will look elsewhere, and she’ll eventually just be fired here

You must not have been around during the Sue Gunter days, or even Pokey. We had a damn good WBB team that was fun to watch.

The Tenn coach they just fired kicked Nikki’s arse this year. Fargas has been awful at LSU. Tenn has probably the number 2 women’s program alltime. Again, why would anyone think they want her?

Honestly, all things considered and all angst aside, she should get next year.
The reactionaries stopped reading, but here is the logic.
Supposedly, she was told to get off her arse and go recruit...and she has a pretty good class coming in, probably her best in 4 years.
So if you tell your coach to go recruit, and she does, why pull the plug now? Next year could be a really good year with Mitchell and Aifuwa down low and some guards who can actually shoot.
That having been said, anything short of about a 5 seed in the NCAAs next year and I'm all for the ax.
I fully understand that and agree
That said, why should you be even having this discussion with a coach in her 8th year? She has not had any big success outside her first few years with the last coaches players. When we have made the NCAAT, we continue to get knocked out first round.
Every time we think we are turning the corner, someone transfers, gets suspended, or gets injured.
My fear is just making the NCAAT will be good enough for Alleva and it won't matter what seed they are. He clearly doesn't care.

And I agree with this.
You should never have to have this discussion with an 8th year head coach because you probably should have fired her after year 5 or 6.
But since we are where we are at this moment, letting her coach next year makes sense.
I don't want to see this program become volleyball where you have the same coach for 20+ years and are happy if she wins an NCAA Tournament game every 4 years, graduates players, and keeps them out of jail. Women's basketball can be a lot more than that.

I agree with you, this program can be so much more
I just pray Mitchell does not bolt as a grad transfer. We didn't find out about Chloe until after the NCAAT was over last year. Word around is her mom isn't very fond of what has transpired here lately. She will occasionally make smart comments on the FB page but then its either usually removed by LSU or hidden.
