When is he EVER highly accurate?
he had the 2nd highest completion % in the SEC last year.
Meaningless. The people who continue to post stats to defend JJ clearly do not actually watch LSU football

Pefectly said. Stats do no make up for scrambling backwards 20 yards and throwing picks or int grounding.

"That's what happens in the game of football,I'm not always perfect. The best quarterback in the world not always perfect. It wasn't a night for me to be highly accurate with passes. It happens."
this is what bothers me with this quote, he doesn't take any responsibility for his performance nor does he give you any indication that he will work to get better.
it kind of comes off as "We won the game and I played poorly, but I don't plan on taking steps to improve."

Jefferson seems to be very arrogant. If you look at him on the field when he does something bad he does nto care or looks for a penalty. When he does something good he throws up the windshield wipers or taunts the other team.
I don't agree with you here.
He seems to be kinda humble and most people tend to think he isn't outspoken enough.
And when you ever throw a 50 yard td you can act however you want. What quarterback doesn't celebrate. Seriously what 20 year old kid doesn't celebrate td.

i dont necessarily have anything wrong with his quote and i dont expect him to be perfect but he missed so many easy throws in critical times

As Chris Landry stated last night on one of the post game shows, completion percentage does not necessarily equate to accuracy. The pass to Spencer Ware is a prime example. Had the ball been thrown accurately over the inside shoulder, the 24 yard gain becomes a td. Even Shepard appeared to be irritated at the passes anyplace but where the receiver could continue into making a big play.

true dat - completing dink passes followed by a punt is worse than an incompletion that would have gotten the first down. At least you are TRYING to make a play.
This was the primary - actually the ONLY - gripe I ever had against Jamarcus. If he could have hit receivers in-stride, we would have won the NC.
JJs throws were way off base - seldom did he hit a receiver so that they could gain some yardage after the catch. Too many times they had to stop their momentum to just get to the ball.

Does this statement concern you a little?
Not one bit. He's not blaming anyone else, he's saying he wasn't 100% which is owning your own performance. Good for JJ!

I would like to see Lee either start or get a lot mor eplaying time.
JJ is regressing IMO and has never been very effective.
BUT these comments on arrogance and not taking responsibility are bothj in accurate and classless.
The youn gman ha s never ssiad or done anything arrogant or innappropriate that I know of (compare for example RP on both counts). He said "I didn't have a good game; it happens". Did you want him to acknowledge being the anti Christ or complicity in the Lindburgh kidnapping?
He's an LSU football player doing the best he can with what he has...

He is just trying to defend his shitty performance, sounds a lot like Matt Lienert before they shipped his arse out.

Are there really any real football fans that still believe JJ is playing well? Seriously?

I totally agree with your post - the young man is doing the best he can.
I think sometimes when people say 'your best is just not good enough' others think they are slamming the player.
IF JJ is really the best we got, then we should all get behind him and rail against our qb recruiting.
However, some of us would like to see if there is ANY chance we got something better on the bench. It is pretty obvious JJ is not going to lead us to a NC or even to a SEC west title.
We do have enough talent on this team that one of those goals is not an impossible dream. Some of us think we should try to make that dream come true by trying something else.
JLee sucked as a freshman tossed into a big-boy game before he was prepared for it. And he didn't look good in his chances last year.
But for pete's sake, JJ has shown he is NOT progressing at all. He is playing at his peak capacity right now and it is just not good eneough.
Give JLee another try and if he loses us a game with pic-6 or otherwise poor play, then we will just have to admit this is not our year and tuck our tails and await next year.
But this year can be salvaged with average play at qb.
We cannot salvage is with below-average to piss-poor qb performance. JJ has had a season and a half of uninterrupted play to show what he has. I think what he has is obvious to all.
Not saying he is not trying - just that he don't have it.
