I wish he would rock 24 and make it his own as opposed to following in the footsteps of others.

I bet Chase turned it down.

Chase is well on his way to making #1 a number all future star wideouts want. I say let the defense have #7 and the offense #1

Who gives a shite about a special number. Stingley and Chase will go down as the best at their position LSU has ever seen. Why wear someone else’s number. Make your own mark. If you are that good no one will ever wear it again.

Because it's a tradition that the players enjoy.

Agreed, looking back it was bad, but we’re not at practice. Giles was a biletnikoff finalist and presumably did well prior to hitting the field and he gave it back.

That said, stingley would be great

It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't keep #24... That is the number his grandfather wore in the NFL if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: His grandfather wore #84 when he was injured, but I know he has shared a photo before of someone in #24... Possibly his dad?

But who will be 18? And who will be 9? And who will be 3? Or 25?

I swear... does anybody honestly give a shite about any of this?

Fournette got 7 as a freshmen so did PP7 and Ali HighSmith

Basically it just became a “earned thing” recently.

He’ll Giles had it.

Guess if Stingley gets #7 which isn’t my purpose now, it will eliminate the #7 thread next year because #7 will be his for the next 2 seasons!!

Les was holding it because it was well known that he wanted to rep 7th ward.

Didn’t become a thing until the honeybadger came alive. He wanted to continue what Pat started, but he changed it.

18 might be the “leader”, but 7, as the kids would say, is the savage.

Thank you, I mean ok I get the #18 thing(kinda) and yes Pat Pete and Tyrann were All Americans DB’s then no one had it for 2 years until Fournette but really it’s barely a “tradition”

Im superstitious about numbers so if I just won a championship wearing a certain number the last thing I would do is change it.

Chase definitely likes wearing that 1, and I don’t blame him. That’s a number I will always associate with star college receivers. He would look weird in a different number just liked Delpit looked weird not wearing 9.
