Jemelle Hill is a lying, race bating moron!

The damn chancellor of LSU is African American...tell her to sit down & STTDB!

Also Landry is dumb for even taking a stance on this

I think you’re naive if you think having to spend time with recruits going on the defensive about this isn’t a problem. Is it the end of the world? No. Is it a problem? Yes.

Politics of the anthem in general which is focus of Jemele or this one specific statement?

There are a lot of SEC states that usually elect Republicans to state wide offices or to majority in legislature who support the anthem and showing it respect (not that this particular issue was about protest or disrespect). They also don’t generally support DEI or similar predecessors like affirmative action or quotas. The SEC seems to do ok in sports.

As of now the statement is just a statement, and it has started a conversation which I thought most blacks supported…

Landry is a jackass for exacerbating the already deeply uninformed condemnation of the team. Someone tell him virtually all of college football doesn't attend the anthem.

I mean... liberal voters are registering as Republicans to participate in their primaries... I don't think this is that far off. Maybe he's playing a role to purposely piss people off

But she isn't the one who started this shite.

She is actually on the right side of this issue.

Landry is the lying, grand-standing moron on this one.

The governor of the state going on Fox News and continuing to grandstand over the issue certainly isn't helping, wouldn't you say?

And believe it or not, they will. Schools will use it to negatively recruit against LSU.

Bull$hit. Maybe if the player is a staunch militant promoter of the BLM movement, but Jemele Hill and the rest of the race bating media can go phuk themselves. This entire fiasco will pass in 72hrs.

Oh and for the record, Landry’s statement has been repeatedly misquoted and taken out of context.

Jim George’s can go phuk himself too

Let the downvotes fly

Was his idiotic interview on Fox News taken out of context, too?

No, that's an easy objection to overcome. Governor Landry is not the head coach (although I agree with his position). This is one that he may never ask the legislature to propose.

Recruiting is slimy. They'll spin it to racism dude.

Yeah, Alabama's long sordid history of racism and the school not even allowing black frats and sororities on campus until a few years ago really hurt Saban's ability to attract black athletes...

This will have 0 impact on recruiting. News and a hot topic today will be irrelevant in 2 weeks.
