He was offered multiple jobs over the years. Mississippi State being one. He has full control in Eunice and for him, that seems to be enough. I never understood why he didn't make a move. I played for him and I guarantee you he would succeed at the D1 level.

He was interviewed for the ULM job in 2017

Only thing I could find as far as salary was 2010 right under 75K

Pretty sure he’s happy where he’s at

Let me rephrase that because Division I in baseball is more expanded than football. I don’t think he’s a Power 5 head coach. I believe a school like McNeese, ULM, Southeastern, etc. he could be successful at.

The main reason I say that though is Division II in JUCO has much less competition. LSUE most definitely needs to move up to Division I in JUCO. I’d love for him to stay at LSUE because I enjoy watching good baseball. I’ve had many friends play for him. I just think he’d have to make the jump in order to prove himself to be at an elite level in the NCAA Division I level. I even believe if he went to JUCO Division I and continued winning it would really stand out.

Well, USM has had the last 2 berry and Palmer come from juco, the pitching coach is now head coach at ULM, baseball is baseball. It’s about talent and how you get players to listen and learn. Oh and those juco teams they coached were pretty good too.

Can you go back to my post and show where I ever suggested he be an SEC coach? No? Then please stop posting

jeff willis won the JUCO II title. Beating teams like "college of Nabisco fightin keebler elves" with enough talent to win on a juco 1 stage hardly qualifies you to coach the tigers.

Great baseball coach. Would be successful anywhere. Many podcasts on line if you want to learn more about who the man is. Hard not to be impressed.

Willis would probably be more successful at your school than Deggs

He definitely loves the work he does and he cares greatly for the entire athletic department, school, and community in general. Loves giving kids the opportunity to become successful not just on the field, but in life. Seems like a really solid guy. If that’s where he wants to be, you can’t hardly fault him for it.

If he gets an interview he could get the job. He has that “it” factor.

Baton Rouge Community College 10 run ruled LSUE twice this past season. One of those was a shutout.

Oh. This shite again. It's like clockwork, about every 3rd day.

Scott Woodward isn't handing this program to a fricking JUCO COACH.

PSA: I am not making fun of LSU E When I say this BUT LSU Eunice is a division 2 juco in Louisiana. As someone who has played division 1 juco and beaten LSU Eunice multiple times in a season I feel confident in saying that Jeff Willis Is extremely qualified for the current job he holds and nothing more not even Mid major D1 head coaching jobs.

Well the landscape was slightly different 80 years ago when Graham did it.
