If Jayden does not allow LSU to promote and refresh the fan base on Jayden’s accomplishments at LSU, then Jayden’s legacy dies. No one will remember it in 5-10 years and Jayden will have no legacy because no one will recognize his name or remember his accomplishments.
So by telling LSU they can’t use is name image or likeness to promote him to the fan base historicallly he simply ensures that he has no legacy here and no one will remember him or care. He destroys his own legacy and standing at LSU and in college football.
The only reason anyone knows about Billy Cannons accomplishments is because LSU talks about it every year.

If I’m LSU I don’t say anything. Just go about the business of winning championships. Don’t make any public comments. Keep any conversations with Jayden private.

Correct he forgot there will always be others after him. His memory, legacy, and money are tied to this campus. Use it to your advantage, and don’t think you’re above it.

Why would Nissan want him on a Heisman house commercial if he already alienated the entire LSU fan base?

He won’t be forgotten, he will just be remembered for this and not for the accomplishments he did. He will be dead to most of the LSU fanbase and the punchline to many meme’s, jokes and etc. Right now this will not have an impact on him because he is still playing and talked about in the NFL. His shortsighted outlook on this will not pay off if he has a bad season again. He has now burned bridges in Arizona and Louisiana, cutting off future revenue there for when he has to hang the cleats up.

This is the dumbest move since Les Miles sued LSU because he wanted some vacated wins restored just to be eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame. This was worse though because JD was golden for life for all LSU fans basically and he went and basically destroyed his legacy as of the moment.
