I think y'all are misinterpreting the problem here. The throws JD is talking about are guys running wide open. Those are the throws he's missing.

I can assure you he is not about to start throwing into tight windows. It's just completely against his nature.

So the results should still not equal a lot of interceptions. Maybe incompletions.

hopefully not, could be catastrophic, you can't just flip a switch, if he isn't that qb after almost 40 starts it's not happening

That’s not what Joe Burrow did. Half of Chase’s TDs were 50/50 balls, in the sense that, had the defender gotten his head turned around, the ball was there for the taking.

Hopefully he means he'll throw the ball to the guys who have been open every game. Not meaning he'll throw it up for grabs.

No. Hopefully it means that when the defender is step for step with his back to the QB he’ll put it up for grabs and count on his athletic receivers who will see the ball before the defender does.

I'll take an interception here and there as long as his completions go up. He just needs to trust his receivers more.

]LSU’s receivers are bigger than their DB’s throw a few in single coverages

Maybe just hit the guy that's open would be a good start. There is room for optimism. This guy throws a slant and hitch very well. He's proven it. I love his demeanor on the field. His face exudes composure. I think in the pocket it's a slight correction to keep Taking those small steps and moving your feet...

If he is so smart, why is it that it has taken him 5 games here to understand this? Let alone all the other starts he has had. I hope it's true, but will believe it when it happens.

He was telling him to square his shoulders. It’s what he doesn’t do when he becomes inaccurate

It's not a 50/50 ball if you're throwing them open. His issue is a lack of anticipatory skills. Anticipate where the receiver will be and throw to that spot and let them run under it or to it. Recognize when to throw a back-shoulder. He's holding onto the ball too long and waiting for the receiver to come open. Just throw the damn ball.

Can't always throw the deep ball - he needs to read underneath.

And if receivers are bitching - maybe they need to look at how they're running the routes? They need to help as well.

Because the easy games are over with

Florida, Arkansas, Ole Miss and A&M are probably no tougher than Auburn and Miss State. Also have UAB remaining.

2 toughest teams left to play are Alabama and presumably Tennessee.

SEC defenses are showing their hand, they are scared to blitz Daniels because of the threat he poses running. If he can learn to take more shots downfield into single coverage and LSU receivers make the catch, it can become a deadly combination.

He doesn’t even need to achieve some high level of passing, just enough to keep the passing threat real.

That’s how you know he’s being too conservative with his decisions. How many defensive PI’s have we had this year against our receivers? I don’t remember very many and it’s because he isn’t throwing unless it’s a busted coverage or a short pass to a back or M Taylor.

He won the starting job, he needs to act like he wants to keep it.
