I don’t know who needs to hear this and I’m not necessarily advocating for him…but here are the schools who offered Daniels. Do his detractors think that he would have not had the type of success that a qb at Alabama or Ohio St typically has? If it is him, let’s trust that we have the staff in place that can maximize his potential like those two schools most likely would have been able to do.

Why not? He’s probably going to be our starting QB and he was very close to being a 5* prospect, and he’s had some success at the college level considering how much of a dog shite dumpster fire Arizona State is. I know that every t-boy on this board just knows that the backup would be better than the starter and all but BK has done nothing that isn’t elite at this point of his LSU tenure. If he decides Jayden Daniels is the guy then I’m all in

The potential is there and it seems like he will get his shot. Let’s hope he excels

Not advocating meaning I trust the judgement of the coaches whomever they choose.

Not a very big QB. If he runs, which he will, he needs to get out of bounds or to the ground. Does not have the size to run over people or take heavy contact over and over. This is my fear, he gets hurt then we are down to Nuss and a true freshman QB. The running game will have to be effective. This is the key to offense success otherwise we are one dimensional. But, I have confident we will be able to run. JD just needs to be cautious on how many hits he gets during the game. Our opponents will be trying to take him out and stick him when they can...

No he would not. I mean, c'mon man. Hes started 3 years? Theres just no there, there. He wouldnt have started at any of those schools listed, except for where he went

We are in the final week and Kelly is still claiming its too close to call. I dont care what motives you assign to Kelly for saying that. Its not a good sign for a 3 year starter

He is, in fact, not saying that at all.

Now do a list who offered Brandon Harris.

LSU
Alabama
Ohio State
Tennesse
Oregon
Nebraska
Auburn
North Carolina
Ole Miss
Arkansas
Team A&M
Miss State
Arizona State
Arizona
South Carolina

What's your point?

He wouldn’t have started more than a season at some of those schools and likely wouldn’t have ever had a shot at Bama. That’s not a knock on Daniels either, because you had a few stellar QBs across that list and several other schools with solid, experienced starters with a year or two remaining. He definitely went where he knew he could get on the field sooner.

The issue is that Daniels just wasn’t developed very well at ASU for how much he played. He didn’t get better, but a lot of that falls on their staff. You could still see those rough edges and the inconsistency passing the ball in the spring game, but I think we’ve seen some practice clips from camp where his mechanics have looked smoother and cleaner. It’s a small sample size, but if he really has taken a step forward there and can maintain what he’s learned when the bullets start flying, then he should be good.

I trust this staff based on their past results and if they say he’s the best option at QB right now, then let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and see how it goes.

I guess I misunderstood. I could have sworn in his press conference that he had a game plan drawn up for 1a and 1b, either could run it.
In his prior press conference he repeatedly said the difference is so thin it's negligible.

You just made my point. The coaching staff is the point. Did you just try to make the point that a Les Miles coaching staff knew how to develop a quarterback? ????

That is exactly what he said TODAY

We have 1a and 1b. Not a starter and a backup, but 1a and 1b, and BOTH will contribute

So a 3 year starter is struggling against a red shirt freshman who has never started

NOT A GOOD LOOK AT ALL

Denbrock is Cam Cameron 2.0. He will run what he is comfortable with, despite the talent he has inherited. This also makes me leery of who he recruits going forward

Brandon Harris went to shite his 3rd.
Jayden Daniels had a bad 3rd year.

Both had 2 good years before the 3rd year.
Both regressed longer they started.
Both had a bunch of offers from big time Schools.

Should I keep going?

Harris threw 45 passes his freshman year.
Harris was awful as a starter his sophomore year.
Harris threw 25 passes his junior year.
Harris then transferred to UNC and played poorly there.

Their careers have virtually no similarities other than transferring after three years.
