It seems to be trending toward JD over Caleb Williams.

They say it’s super close but Jayden might be pulling ahead.

If you’re an NFL franchise, look at the personality of Williams vs Daniels. Which guy do you want to invest your future in? Williams has a track record of being a total a-hole dbag off the field. Correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t remember JD having any off the field issues or attitude issues like Williams.

Let’s talk actual ball. Williams makes big plays by scrambling around and extending plays. He doesn’t seem to stand in the pocket and go through progressions. Daniels made massive plays with his arm in the pocket. Compare the two’s big passing plays. I can guarantee JD has majority of his from the pocket vs Caleb having most from a busted play by scrambling

For Jayden sake I sure hope not. The bears are a dumpster fire. He deserves to go number 1 but that team kills careers.

Caleb is still the favorite to go #1. I saw the Dan Orlovsky clip too, but that doesn’t really mean much.

Do you have examples?

I agree. Williams reminds me of cam newton with the weird personality, but without the freak athletic ability.

I bet you can’t guarantee this and I would bet you haven’t watched much of Caleb Williams either.

So because he paints his nails for games he has off the field issues and attitude problems? Haha

He gives off massive douchebag vibes. Trying to be fair here with JD. Ask any non LSU SEC fan what they think of Daniels. You’ll have your answer.

Look at what Daniels did vs Bama x2 and Georgia while hurt. Those are NFL talent level rosters. He carried the team in those games. If it werent for Dallas Turner’s dirty hit, LSU is back in the SECCG.

Take Caleb’s dick out of your mouth.

Look at level of competition. Pac12 vs SEC. Can’t even compare. I’ve seen plenty of Caleb Williams over the years and his style is not NFL caliber. He can’t read defenses. He runs around and waits for a busted coverage.

If JD painted “frick UGA” on his fingernails and went out to lose by 25 in a conference title with a CFP slot on the line you’re damn right I’d be saying he’s got attitude problems. That’s garbage and anyone who knows ball knows that.

That’s what people say about every team, until they get the right QB and most of their problems are solved

Not sold on that staff by any means but they have a boatload of assets, and high level weapon in DJ Moore, and cap space to build on a roster that has some talent on it

wasn’t long ago people were claiming players would stay in school to avoid getting drafted by Houston, literally 1 draft later and they are one of the best roster and cap situations around for a young team. People also clutched their pearls that Burrow should tell the bengals not to draft him when he came out, boom he goes to a Super Bowl with them almost instantly

Being in the right place with the correct support certainly matters for QBs, it’s just not an equation that’s very easy to compute from the outside on what those great fits or situations will actually be, because it often is dependent on the other players who were drafted along with the QB in the previous years and the same draft

Cincinnati was first and Houston is right there with them. Turnarounds can happen quickly if the organization gets the right coach and makes good moves. Just because the Bears have sucked for a while doesn’t mean they can’t figure it out real quick also.

Same for the redskins or Pats

X reported yesterday that Williams refused to submit to medical examinations at the combine or release his medical records to the NFL. This is a huge red flag and experts think this may turn some clubs off.

I hope the Bears still draft Williams so JD5 doesn't get stuck in that QB hell.

That kind of is the NFL style now though

There’s not a lot of Brady’s, Mannings etc left that are going through all their progression and controlling the pre snap calls. Just like in college, teams are lowering the margins and making the reads more simple and defined and often the 3rd or 4th option built into the play is the “scramble and go make a play”

I want to be clear that I am not saying he will be mahommes, idk if he will even be good, but mahommes has that same kind of play style, so obviously it has shown it can work. Josh Allen has this exact play style and he’s turned into one of the best QBs in the league. Again doesn’t mean he will do the same, but I would recommend breaking out of your assumptions about NFL offenses and how they operate in the current era.

Haha what? Caleb Williams has been the projected #1 overall pick for 3 years now and just because I think that he will go #1 I’m now sucking his dick? Link what you have seen that says Jayden might have overtaken him for the #1 overall pick.

You probably thought Jayden was a locker room cancer because of the video that came out when he was leaving ASU…. Until he transferred to LSU of course

I tried to tell the Rant this in 2022 when they were saying JD wouldn't be drafted because he didn't go through 4-5 progressions in the pocket. Pretty much nobody does that anymore because there isn't enough time on the vast majority of passing plays.

The biggest change is that in the NFL, you're going to have few defenders you can exploit specifically like in college and they disguise everything better. So that first/second read is infinitely more difficult and the windows to make throws are smaller.

He was going to be the # 1pick since October. This is how the NFL draft works.
