Vitello has Been in Tennessee for a while and has 0 titles he built a good program but when it counts he has not delivered yet he might this year though! And jay is just scratching the surface! Jay knows how to push the right buttons at the right time!!

Idk. Ed was working those blonde Co-Eds at a level that Les would be jealous of

It’s incredibly hard to win a title. What jay did last year piecing together the wins in Omaha was unreal. Beating wake in the walkoff game was one of the greatest games I’ve ever watched.

For the people that said he was the Ed O of baseball need to come get served! Where are y'all at?

Jay is relentless. His work ethic PLUS bigtime NIL will keep LSU in contention most years.

Kentucky lol what has he done ? Again what has he done?
He built the program first of all. Last year made supers, 2 wins away from Omaha and lost to the champs.
This year has won co-sec champs and is a lock for a national seed.
Sure, he hasn’t really won anything yet, but doing it at Kentucky and seeing the consistency from last year to this year is impressive, to say the least.

Would everyone be saying this if he would have lost to Georgia and we wouldn’t have done enough to get into the tournament?

Jay Johnson is the best coach in college baseball
Hopefully we fire him after winning back to back National Championship...that's the only way to make LSU Fans happy.
Then hire that next Coach mentioned in Ryno's thread.

What most of our baseball “fans” don’t understand is that we had holes in our lineup at the beginning of the season. We still do in CF. We started a FR at 2nd that needed time to get comfortable with SEC pitching. It’s impressive he’s done as well as he has this year. Then we had an issue at our corner OF position and it took time to find Larson. Then a couple of our vets started slow which all contributed to a bad first half against a really tough font loaded SEC schedule.
Then of course you have Hurd being Hurd and you have no shot in a game 3. All in all, Jay did a good job to keep them all from throwing in the towel.

You can’t discount what Mingione is doing at Kentucky though
Mangina is a soggy shite sandwich and I can absolute the little bit of temporary "success" he's had at UK!

And let's be honest. Who out of all of them would you trade Johnson for?
ZERO of them...eight days a week!

I agree he's a top 5 coach easily and perhaps #1.
That said, half of our fanbase will want him fired the next time we're behind in a game.

That’s the mental side of preparation.
That's the thing that most people don't recognize about Jay...the smart little things.
Like when facing a team coached by last years pitching coach you have a 1st year guy come in and shove for 7 innings!
Jump was always the right choice but Jay also knew that Wes had the book on most of the remaining staff!
Smart little things!

His dugout has the most "softball chants" and gimmicks in the entire league...so there's that!

Unless we lose today and then he is on the hot seat. Did I rant right?
