This administration just needs to go...I went to grad school at LSU but this is embarrassing the school, the state and many current and former students, fans of this great university, etc...Here is an idea why don't we actually have graduates of LSU on these Boards...I am embarrassed and I live in Wisconsin...

She certainly should sue LSU. Feel bad for the school on this one.

Yall donrealize that even if she didnt even know the handler, its still the same biolation that wade would have committed. He thought he was paying for the player.

Bothing changes with her denial and even being cleared.

Wade still did what he did thinking he was getting a recruit because of the "offer"

The administration just needs to say we will evaluate the situation after the FBI hearing and say no comment...Whatever comes out will determine the course...If the kid is cleared to play then really what is the issue...Yes, he is on the tapes but take the high road on this...Started to laugh at the intelligence when somebody gave me a down vote...in previous reply...

Well that's how professionals would have handled it anyway...

With the blatant nature of the leak, if it were me, my reaction would have been to fire Wade as soon as it was released, but I guess you cannot move like that with Wade being under contract and all. That and my aforementioned thought that Alleva and BOS could be involved, which would make them hypocrites.

If in fact Ms.Smart does file suit, it's easy to guess who her atty would depose first; and what questions he would ask each. But, then, too, she would be exposed to being deposed and you can book it that the defense would have the IRS sitting in the room, a favorite defensive strategy of intimidation.

using him as a bargaining chip

....a bargaining chip for what?

LSU administration is clearly worried about NCAA sanctions.
In my opinion, they assume we've done something that could be penalized, just in the case of normal day-to-day proceedings, that the NCAA generally overlooks.

But now, they can't overlook it, because there's a scandal that national media is yelling about.

So, they suspend Wade, and more importantly they held out Smart, preemptively, to show they were "looking into it". Wade not speaking blew that up in their faces.

I don't see how you can clear Smart and still keep the pressure on Wade, but then I don't see how Wade can duck this forever either. I think he clearly knows he's out, and he's trying now to avoid admitting cause.

The whole thing is weird; on the one hand he (wade) can claim he can't discuss any possible testimony prior to the trial. on the other hand, LSU can claim he's being insubordinate by not even sitting down with admin, even to say "I can't talk about this".

What good is a lawsuit going to do her when her son is one of the ones mentioned, along with a third party, in the leak of Wade presumably making her and him presumably an improper offer benefitting them for signing with the team. Does she want discovery?

maybe she's Smart (SWIDT) and knows that LSU fears discovery.

At this point, I love my alma mater enough, and hate this entire leadership structure enough, to kind of hope to see something like this clean the freaking house ... Even if it means we suck for a couple a three years. Amirite?

Certainly she is being advised by a lawyer and so is the BOS. The more they fight, the more complicated it gets the more legal fees generated for the defense and the larger contingency fee from the inevitable settlement the BOS lawyers will offer.

So the intended effect is being accomplished. Make the lawyers rich with taxpayer money!!

It is a shame and I really cannot believe Wade is doing anything that many other coaches are doing. I suspect one of the most important talents a successful college basketball coach can have now is hiding payments and facilitating entrance exam testing for one and done basketball players.

That may be the narrative they're pushing, but the fact that they invited NCAA officials to sit in on the "meeting" shows they are not acting in good faith.

It was a complete ambush.

The hypothesis is that he does not mesh with the higher ups, & these allegations (which he has now rumored to have been cleared by the NCAA) give them the perfect excuse to cut ties.

ETA: there is no proof of any of this; I’m simply regurgitating info from the rant.

We should get a fellow tigerdroppings member who is a layer and file a class action lawsuit. For mental pain and suffering.

I don't see how there's any chance of winning a lawsuit against the University when they can easily claim that they would need to have Wade's signed assurance that there was no offer that was accepted to put themselves out of reasonable risk.
