Maybe if you told folks the reason, instead of being the international man of mystery, we would learn from it.

I don’t want to take anything away from Edwards, he has improved so much — but a healthy Coleman would be our 2nd best arm on this team.

With Coleman at 100%, our staff is looking to be solid in ‘24.

Its funny how people remember injured players so much more fondly. As a freshman Coleman had a 5.79 ERA in 32.2 IP, 32 H, 43 K, 18 BB.

Now he had an outstanding game against Oregon in the regional which had everyone giddy, but he followed it up with a not so great showing vs Tennessee in the Super. People were rightfully excited for him at the end of the season, but he hasn't really emerged yet. Last season there's really nothing of note because he was injured so early.

That's not to say he won't be a good pitcher for us, but for this season I wouldn't hope for anymore than him being a 1 inning relief pitcher. He definitely won't be our 2nd best arm this year

CJJ will go to the portal and get more stud pitchers. You can bet on that.

This is the quote from the Oregon coach from that regional game. Coleman will be a stud

quote:

Anybody who’s showing that, that’s what you see on TV when you’re watching major league baseball,” Oregon coach Mark Wasikowski said, “and often you don’t even see that good because you don’t see command of three pitches with that kind of velocity from the left side.”

A 1.53 whip in the SEC isn’t bad. The kid showed he had good stuff. 2 years older and probably more velocity on FB after the surgery should have people excited for his return. Second best arm on the team my be pushing it a little. People should temper their expectations cause you never now how a player will come back from an injury.

Coleman also had very good extended outings vs Bama and A&M in the last two regular season series. Gave up in 1 run each in both.

I don't think he's got the second best "arm" but assuming a reasonable trajectory from how '21 ended, he'd be our #2 weekend starter this year.
