I mean...he was okay. He didn't put up Tommy Hodson numbers.

Say you have respect for him, that's fine, but his numbers were pretty far from "The Man" status.

Hi Deke. Lee statistically was at the top of the SEC rankings with a 152.0 efficiency rating. He completed 104 of 167 for 1,306 yards, 14 TDs and three interceptions. He was ranked about 13th nationally. Not bad, when your head coach is a mental midget.

I like to think about the under pressure throws he made like vs tenn at home espec 4th down, fla game throw to tolliver FTW or Alabama game clincher throw he made at home.

The Auburn and South Carolina victories on the road in '08 were largely due to Lee's abilities as well. Here was a QB who actually won games on his abilities, the freshman pick sixes notwithstanding. At the time it seemed insane that with a solid rushing attack available, the play calls were consistently more liberal with tough, middle-of-the-field pass plays called. Lee proved himself to be a game, honorable guy who could spin a football much better than the majority of the QB's Les has brought in.

Yet when it was obvious that Bama had successfully schemed for LSU in the BCS game, Miles yet again showed that he was incapable of recognizing required change. The only team in BCS history not to score a point, and Miles made ZERO adjustments

I would have tried him too but lest you forget he shite the bed at Bama in Tuscaloosa and JJ had to come get him out of trouble.

Another issue that I never heard put to bed was that LSU was afraid to put Lee in the championship game due to potential ineligibility due to grades. I would have thought that would have been determined before the game though. And before you all holler BS, I heard that from someone formerly in the program and had ears into it still.

But if you assume Lee was better on the basis of bad coaching, you have to assume the same of Jefferson

I posted as much.

Every last QB Les has had since 2008 deserves the benefit of the doubt

He was so awful that JJ was clearly the better option, and JJ was terrible.

Hold on, now. Les is terrible at developing QBs, but Jarrett Lee had a very good 2011, except for the Bama game.

104 - 167 62.3%
1306 yards
14 TD
3 INT
152.0 rating

Jarrett Lee was awful against Bama his whole career. Also lost the 2008 Bama game for us that went to OT. LSU wouldn't have won the regular season game in 2011 against Bama or the NC game if he had played the majority of the time in either one.

I've heard a story that Lee and his backers on the team "threatened" Miles, or gave Miles an ultimatum before the NCG? And with his back to the wall, Miles would be damned before he'd put in Lee?

Just asking.

sounds just like Brandon Harris.

And for similar reasons.

Both are terrified of contact.

Except for the year he took Bama into overtime, or the year before the BCS game where he came off the bench cold, to complete a 3rd and 13 for 46 yards, and seal the victory, right? Except for those 2 years, you mean, which wouldn't be "his whole career", would it?

My definition of awful would be the QB numbers from the BCS game vs Bama, amirite?

now Robb, while I appreciate Jarrett's 3rd down conversion in 2010, please don't use his 08 Bama performance as something good.

he "took them to OT"? lol. yeah he took em there alright. without the pick 6 he threw before OT (not to mention the other 2 regulation INTs), we win in regulation. by #RantLogic, at least.

that would be my definition #2. my #1 would be Lee throwing 4 INTs in 08.

Jefferson, Hatch, Lee, and Jennings were all terrible. We didn't develop them, but they were never going to be NFL talented QBs or even All-SEC QBs.

Mettenberger showed out his senior year in 2013. Pretty clear, the difference between Mett and the rest was a definite higher ceiling for improvement. I know people say but Georgia developed him....if that was only the case, he would have beat out Aaron Murray or balled out in 2011/2012 immediately upon arrival but he actually sucked in 2012 and was really immature. Clearly he improved between 2012 and 2013 at LSU.

Not saying we maximized any of the QBs potential, I don't think Miles with any OC we've had has done that at all. But just because we suck at development doesn't mean Jefferson/Lee/Hatch/Jennings were ever going to be any good.

This is when I wanted him gone. This fricking moment. We all know what happened and watched Lee sit there while Les acted like nothing wrong was happening.

You are referencing 1 completion he threw in a span of 4 games against Alabama. There is literally nothing else he did in his career against Alabama worth noting. Guy was the most skittish QB we've fielded. How about that INT he threw coming out of halftime in the 2011 game.

except the stats don't show that. In 2015, Harris had a full year starting, similar to Lee in 2011. That's where the similarities end:

Harris' 2015 stats are below (Lee's are in parentheses):

53.8% (62.3%)
13 TDs (14)
6 INTs (3)
130.6 rating (152.0)

Harris was far worse than Lee in every one of those stats.

No LSU QB since Flynn has beaten Alabama.

Defense won the game in November 2011.

It was Harris' 1st year starting, to be fair.

And from Bama on, Harris was amazingly terrible.

Before Bama, he was playing fairly well. Just like Lee

Alright, over reached on that one, but the rest stands true. Lee blew arse against Bama his whole career especially that 2008 Bama game.

LOL. The legend grows still, going on 5 years later.
I wish Les had inserted Lee 1-9-12 just for a Lee Fan Club reality check and get robbyrobby to stfu.
