I was lucky enough to have a few beers and a chat with him at a tailgate a while back when I visited. Yeah he wasn’t a fan of old Les at all

A walk into the endzone just to have that ball knocked loose from behind at the last second

We actually had a somewhat balanced offense before Perriloux got kicked off the team. I’m sure J Lee expected the offense to be similar but he was put in charge of the offense before he was ready and it was pick city. After that Leslie never trusted another QB and went back to his 1970’s Michigan offense. A damn shame too because a lot of our QB’s struggled in those predictable offenses.

If ever Les Miles got his head out of his own arse, he'd probably still be the HC at LSU.

Since he was trying to get his head in other asses he still would've been fired

8min left in 3rd qtr Jan 9, 2012

Put him in, coach.

Would he have changed outcome? No

Would I have quit beating my head against wall? Yes

Surely did. There's a time & place for it still in today's game. Same goes for I formation period. Mostly in short yardage & goal line.

Under Payton, the Saints would often look to take a shot downfield when they got in between the 40s. The majority would come from I formation, Brees under center & him doing an 8 step drop. The difference was Payton heavily mixed up his formations & personnel groupings. Les didn't which bogged down offensive production.

Frank Wilson said he felt the ground shaking from the crowd's reaction to that play.

but we don't know that for sure.

As it was, we were going down in flames. Miles had an obligation to try something (ANYTHING!!) to try to light a spark. Put it Lee, put in Mett, put in the water boy -- ANYTHING!! Because what we were doing on offense was a complete disaster.

But he did absolutely nothing and drove the plane straight into the ground.

It was the most abominable coaching job I've ever witnessed.
