He may be rusty, but it is hard for me to believe that he is not, say, among the 96 best QB prospects available if he is decent shape. His physical gifts are so significant and the cost to sign him would be so low that I would definitely invite him to camp if I ran a team with QB problems.
by the way, I picked the number 96 as that approximates how many QB's there (3 per team). I realize that many teams only keep two active, but everyone has three in camp, at least at the beginning.

I would offer McCarthy to pay my way for one full offseason and regular season on the Packers roster.
McCarthy's offseason program for QB's the stuff of legend.

he's looking good, starting to see his muscles take shape and that fat burn off, I'm rooting for him there's no doubt

He also lost his grandfather who raised him back then. That's def a factor as to why it appeared he gave up.

They did a really good job with these videos.

He's a former tiger. I certainly hope every fan here wishes the best for him.
Physically, the guy is off the charts good.
I'd love to see him get to a team where he can actually play in a system that forces him to learn and understand the game.

They really do. Each JaMarcus comeback video has been very entertaining.

I wish him the best but unfortunately wishing doesn't help. JR has to have the "want". So far that hasn't been evident.
If he is broke, maybe its not too late to develop a desire to excel.
How do you feel sorry for someone who walked off the field with thirty million dollars?
I remember John Williams, LSU basketball player. He was offered $700,000. to lose weight so he could continue to play the game. He refused.

Its not just about losing the weight, he's been completely out of the game for over 2 years now. It'll take a rough adjustment period, IMO 2014 is much more realistic than this year. This year is getting ready to get ramped up with OTAs and mini-camp in a matter of less than 2 months here. He's going to be super rusty still at that point.
signed michael vick. yes i realize they're different type athletes, but they're still both QBs, and Vick was sitting in a jail cell for 2 years, made a roster his 1st year back, and was a pro bowler year 3. for premier athletes, it doesn't take 2 years to regain the muscle memory, timing, etc. honestly, there have been plenty of professional athletes take 2 years off and come back and at least make a roster

He's from fricking Alabama you dipshit! Get over it
What happened you responded then had some delayed anger and had to to call me a dip shite?? You obviously have trouble reading because I acknowledged the fact that he was from Alabama. He is the only LSU qb to ever support the rival team after he left campus. He can suck it.

Hope he makes it and has a good career. He might have learned the lesson that it actually takes hard work to succeed.
Good luck JR!

The weight countdown is like watching the View or Ellen it seems.
I don't give a crap over his weight.
Can he read the current batch of defensive packages being run now?
