but a big part of the reason he moved wasn't because two freshman beat him out but more so because we needed him at safety

IF there are only two people involved, how can what really happened by ascertained by the police or anyone else for that matter?

it is difficult, no doubt. easy to establish enough probable cause to issue an arrest warrant as the burden is very low, but, from what we know, it should be difficult to indict and even more difficult to get a conviction. and the girlfriend's admission dilutes their case even more

It's never not going to happen so if it's too much for you stop paying attention to football.

Mills was contacted by police on May 29 and he told them he was in Houston and would return to Baton Rouge on June 9, the first day of summer school and football workouts. A June 10 appointment was set for Mills to meet with the police, but he did not make the meeting.

He had more than 10 days to make it back to Baton Rouge. It bothers me that he either didn't want to make it back, or he thought he was above the law and just didn't go. He has free representation through the University so lack of an attorney was not the reason he did not show up at the police meeting.

No news source so far is reporting the rumors about his girlfriend or any other rumors. They are all reporting hard news that he was arrested and is in rather serious trouble.

I'm betting that this is another case of someone filing a complaint & demanding action and the P.D. content to follow thru and let the "system" sort out where the truth lies. While he could be completely guilty, he could also be the victim. I wouldn't be surprised at what may come next including, if the whole thing is scrapped by the DA after Mill's attorney provides evidence favorable to his client in his report.

All of this has already been discussed. There was no pressing or mandatory reason for him to come back. He was already coming back on the 9th for summer workouts, so it was no problem just scheduling it for then. It was just a simple investigatory meeting, no court order or anything.

What? Are you implying the athletes get free legal services from the University? Might want to go freshen up on the improper benefits section of the NCAA rules

Unless they have video evidence the case has no legs. It's now her story vs. Mills and his girlfriends story. It will be dropped in a week or so unless they have some evidence they haven't released yet.

No we don't. This is frickin stupid. If you think Ed Paris, or any of those other guys, can take Mills' place without a noticeable dropoff, you're out of your mind. Mills is (was) probably the best guy in our secondary.

No he isn't. He was going to be the starter at FS because of a need there, but White and Robinson are both better CBs. Robinson is, by far, the most talented of our DBs.
