re: Beth Torina

Beth is a fine coach and a fine person. The team this year has been hard to work with. There are a few players who don’t like the way Beth coaches and they have been causing problems for her. Look for a couple transfers at the end of the season and all will be well at the softball park next year. The fact is that his is her team and she is not going to allow any players to ruin that. And no, she is here for at least two more years.
And how much have Les Miles coached teams brought into LSU? If you take everything into consideration his teams have brought LSU at least $100 million in return.

He won a national championship. He gets a life pass and gets to walk out the door when he is good and ready.

What do the following coaches have in common?
1) Larry Coker
2) Nick Saban
3) Les Miles
4) Bob Stoops
5) Urban Meyer
6) Gene Chizik
7) Jimbo Fisher

I believe they are the only active coaches to have a national title. They all deserved the chance to leave when they want to leave. Schools that fire head coaches with a national title deserve to get crap as their replacements.

None- the playoff system will require CLM to coach two great games consecutively. This means to win you have to allow your OC and DC alone to do their jobs- I don't think he can do that in a playoff setting.

Best post ever about LM. If he ever wins another national title I will never post on this board again simply because I will have been so very wrong about him. He needs to retire, or be retired, ASAP so the football team can move on.

The story.... if there was news to update about the GF taking the blame they would have a follow-up story.
Some of you people don't want discussion, you want to be right. Express an opinion that disagrees with your opinion and you start calling names, usually laced with obscenities. Congratulations, you represent our university well.

I will argue with available facts, not with rumors. With that said, I sure hope some of you are correct and this young man gets out of trouble because he didn't do anything wrong.
Which of the current coaches at LSU will bring us a title in the next few years?

Mills was contacted by police on May 29 and he told them he was in Houston and would return to Baton Rouge on June 9, the first day of summer school and football workouts. A June 10 appointment was set for Mills to meet with the police, but he did not make the meeting.

He had more than 10 days to make it back to Baton Rouge. It bothers me that he either didn't want to make it back, or he thought he was above the law and just didn't go. He has free representation through the University so lack of an attorney was not the reason he did not show up at the police meeting.

No news source so far is reporting the rumors about his girlfriend or any other rumors. They are all reporting hard news that he was arrested and is in rather serious trouble.

I'm curious... do you know who my father is?
This is getting old.... every year there is some scandal with one or more of our football team members. I say that we need to let these guys go to another non BCS school and finish their careers. The distraction caused by these players is worse than the on the field loss of their skills.

After three or four players are shown the door perhaps the players will understand that if they get in trouble they are gone. It could perhaps also bring in some different kids to our program that will not come here because of all the garbage.

Let's be honest about our recruits. If they are good enough to be recruited by LSU they are good enough to be recruited by 10 other BCS schools. How many players do we lose because they don't want to be associated with the LSU players who always seem to be getting into trouble?

While we are at it let's get rid of Miles and bring in a coach with a clean record. We are not going to win another title under Miles so this is a good excuse to get someone new.

Charges will be dropped. Young lady will get a few bucks from someone. Mills will be suspended for Wisky then team vote will reinstate.

This is how we roll!!!

Beth torina. she's only been at LSU for 3 seasons, and we've improved tremendously each one. we have a top 5 recruiting class coming in with the #1 pitcher signed.

just figured I'd note she's doing an excellent job before you put your foot in your mouth

Since hiring Beth the team has done nothing. They have not improved. She has great recruiting classes yet the team has had no improvement.

You can argue with that all want but facts are facts.

One more fact since this thread is about UL. The softball team has lost every game to UL in regional and super regional action since we built the new park. Beth has lost every match up with the Cajuns since she got to LSU. She was a second choice after Patrick turned us down after embarrassing us by taking the job and then going back to Alabama. She should have been hired for one year and the job reopened and a real coach with a real chance of winning a national title should have been hired.

It's called the Mark Hudspeth effect. You can't simply put someone from Mississippi with so much win in him that he pisses excellence in a place to coach football without all spirts improving.

While I agree to a point, Coach Robichaux and Coach Lotief have been successful for a long time. UL had a basketball coaching problem and they have kind of fixed it even though they could still do better.

Coach Hudspeth has done a great job in Lafayette. The thing about him that scares me is that he has been offered a few jobs that pay very well and he is choosing to stay in Lafayette. He is a Rock Star here, but he also continues to live a very normal life. His wife loves Lafayette and if it is up to her I understand they will stay here forever.

I will always be an LSU fan but I must admit that it has been fun living in the Lafayette area during the past few seasons seeing a school that is not expected to have success doing very well!
We lost. The team that beat us lost. We lost in softball. The team that beat us in softball lost to ULL.

In order to fix the problem you must recognize that there is a problem. If we keep our head in the sand UL will eventually be ahead of LSU in everything but football.

This is not a money problem. This is not name problem. This is a coaching problem.

Most of these kids are from Louisiana and love baseball. You are nuts if you think any of these kids would have turned down LSU for ULL

ULL is the only school that made the super regional round in both softball and baseball. There are lots of kids that have obviously turned down LSU for UL. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee. ULL/UL USL/SLI or whatever you want to call them is now ahead of us in spring sports.

I thought the best pitcher was Coach Robichaux's son? Please tell me they don't have a kid better than Robichaux.

You mean we were just pathetic?

No I don't mean that at all. I mean that the Tigers are a good team in an overrated league. The other team was outstanding.

I think that the SEC is the best league in the country in football. I think that there are other leagues as good as us in the other sports, and in baseball I think our league was overrated. I'll say the opposite in softball this year in that I think the end results for our overall league spoke for themselves.
Houston was great. we were just good.

Looking at where each team was supposed to be I wonder if the SEC was not over rated this season? The bad thing is that several teams are losing outstanding players. I know we will miss Nola as he was good for 20-5 wins if he would have come back.

Alabama (2)
Kentucky (2)

Houston had a 7 run inning.... why can't LSU?
