If he comes back after being suspend for hitting her and only catching a lesser charge you will cheer just as hard when he makes a game clinching pick against bama.

Though I'm big on due process and waiting for the facts to come out, I can't think of a scenario other than fabrication where the ending, "then in response he punched the girl in her mouth" is justified. So in terms of due process, the only thing that would be relevant to what LSU should do with him would be that he didn't actually do it.

anytime a player is charged with something they are going to be suspended until it is sorted out. we have all summer so there should be no rush to judgement. Also victims and witness's lie all the time.

As per 24/7 Mills has been indefinitely suspended.

Just when you start to think the offseason is too quiet...

Oh well, make way for the talented freshmen class!

Do not want someone that punches women on our team. I hope Miles sends him packing.

Hard to say I wouldn't but it still wouldn't make it right if he indeed hit the girl

I agree. Punching a woman under any circumstance HAS to end in dismissal.

sure it is but if you get caught by the ncaa then its a year long suspension. If you get arrested, charges can be lessened and the punishment can be determined by the coach.

If this is true, and it probably has a basis in truth and an actual event - I hate that our athletes appear to have zero self-control. And I know it's not just our LSU athletes, this is something that occurs all over. And in fact, does not seem to particularly be limited to athletes' behaviors. Regular people, too. Where is the self-control? The sense of decency?

Really? Under any circumstance? That's a little ridiculous.

My thought is that if somehow this turned out to be self defense or justifiable, he's just as much of an idiot for not sticking around until it was resolved. Nevermind just ignoring an appointment to talk to detectives. His first call should have been Miles who would have sent him with an attorney at the very least. With poor judgment like that, he's more than likely not innocent of this accusation.

The victim, who notified authorities, stated she was at Mills’ apartment complex when she knocked on Mills’ door looking for her friend. Mills opened the door then closed it in the victim’s face so she knocked again. When no one came to the door the victim walked away down the hall. She stated she heard someone say something to her while walking away and when she turned around Mills punched her in the mouth. She fell to the pavement and was unconscious briefly, according to the report. The victim required 4 stitches in her lip as a result of the attack.

This all just sounds really weird. I mean how could Mills make it through life this far without an arrest if he can't tolerate someone knocking on his door? Gotta be more to the story.
quote:

On May 29th investigators contacted Mills by telephone. He stated he was in Houston, TX and would not be back in Baton Rouge until June 9th for summer school.

Investigators made an appointment to speak with Mills on June 10th at 5:00pm, which Mills missed. Mills also did not answer the investigators phone call nor return a voice mail left by the investigator. A felony warrant was issued for his arrest for 2nd Degree Battery later that day.
