Courtney is the one that needed to go, but wish him the best. Interested to see where he goes.

I won't be searching. But it's not something I see as a big deal if it doesn't have the old saying involved. Dead girl, live boy, etc.

I'm not so happy with this as most guys seem to be. We all expect players, even ex-players, to be loyal to LSU. Shouldn't that cut both ways? Courtney gave us what he had and that should be enough. Plus now we have one less scholarship to offer in 2014 because Jalen would have freed up one then when he graduated. Is Bridgewater such a great addition that we couldn't have gotten someone better in 2014?

In fact now that I think about it we don't on paper as of this moment have any slots to offer any 2014 scholarships. CJJ most be expecting a lot of guys not to come back after next year. I know JOB is almost a certain and there has been talk about Martin being good enough to be a one and done but who else? Are we going to have more players "request release" next year?

I know, this is the reality of high stakes college basketball and it is the same everywhere. I just think it stinks!

We had to get Bridgewater in this situation. You cant let one of the top players in the state get out of your backyard (Baton Rouge/Scotlandville). It is Jones setting the tone for years to come in BR/LA. Yeah we had to sacrifice something to get him but it was a must simply for future recruiting and his talent is the icing on the cake. Its the nature of the beast

I'm not all that excited about losing a player either but this:

Is flat out wrong. We'll still have two seniors on the team and JOB who very likely won't come back as a senior.

Right now we have 2 seniors for next year which means we can at the moment give out 2 scholarships for 2014 class. This is very likely to change between JOB/Martin possibly going pro and/or more attrition (Collins, some other transfer). I'd say we're safe to say we'll have at least 3 scholarships to give out to 2014 recruits...even IF we had only 2...would you be upset if those 2 were Dante Exum and Craig Victor?

What? We clearly have 2 seniors next season in Coleman and Stringer.

It's sad to see him go, but it's better than losing anyone else IMO.

Jalen did what he could to help the team. He was not going to see the court next year. He will end up at a smaller school and finally get some real playing time. We are all grateful for his contributions. The talent level has forced him out. It happens in football all the time. Thanks Jalen, you will always be a Tiger!

Jalen needs to go to southern. Immediate playing time, still in BR, and could be a big fish in a small pond
