I'm sure teams call head coaches to ask questions about their players. In that case, a coach has professional responsibility to disclose this sort of information imo.

Coaches have to tell the NFL everything about the players and be completely honest. Its the way the relationship works and NFL coaches rely on that info to make their evaluations. Its why you'll hear about character or maturity issues sometimes during the draft, they won't publicly say what the issue is but allude to it

Eh, this is mostly about the text response.
Collins had already spent 4 years in the program & commanded a high draft grade. Miles is a piece of shite for acting like that.
I can see how he thinks that shocking response could relate to what became public if he doesn’t know exactly how the process works.
