Bingo.

His track record in the NFL says that folks at LSU preached caution and probably warned NFL teams about Collins behavior.....

WHICH CONTINUED THROUGHOUT HIS NFL TENURE

Also, FYI, it is pretty widely known that Saban tells NFL teams the truth about his players. Heard that multiple times on draft coverage and such. And that is why they believe him when he says "take this kid, he's going to be great".

Exactly and there is nothing wrong with this but if you are a college athlete going to the NFL this is probably the first time in your life someone has ever said anything negative about you off the field. So in their mind it comes off as a slight or sabotage when in reality the coach is just saying the truth.

So stupid, he was mocked as a second round pick, he went in the second round. He couldnt do right and is now bitching about others.

There is a reason some athletes do better with the responsiblity that comes with being a professional player. And it is how they conduct themselves. Les brought him in, got him coached, got him time, got him exposed and in position to make a shite ton of money...all the while he couldnt stop smoking pot. Screw him and all like him.

Man! How dare Les make shite like that up about Collins! What ever happened to him? Oh, he was cut by Atlanta for failing multiple drug tests. Sounds like Les was honest about what kind of player Collins was, and he proved it by doing the exact same thing at the next level.

Scouts appreciate heads up given by coaches regarding a problematic player. By flagging one athlete as having issues, you earn trust that can then be used to assist the players who did things right

Also, he confirmed with 18 teams that he smoked weed. It's very possible one of those teams leaked it to ESPN to try to get his draft stock down so they could take him lower. He sounds like he can't think for himself anyway. I definitely don't feel sorry for him. He was suspended like 4 times in the NFL for weed.

Yeah, if people remember correctly Lael Collins was screwed so bad in this draft that it should have been criminal. And we got a dope head on a podcast

A person that is supposed to have your back sabotaged his draft and cost him money. For what daring to leave early? For smoking a plant? Miles is a c$ck for doing that.

There is zero proof presented that Les sabotaged him. However, there is proof that a 1st round graded player burned out of the league within 2 years of getting there.

Also, as a Coach, over the past decade plus, I have spoken to many high school and college coaches about the athletes in my programs. I always tell the truth. I don't just shite on a kid, but I give an honest assessment and critique. If I become known as a liar then my word becomes useless and it penalizes the kids that I coach in the future.

I see it all the time though, people, parents, kids, athletes mess up or can't slide by, and immediately start pointing the finger else where.

I was actually having this conversation the other day with my wife. To me, it doesn't matter how you get there, it just matters that you do. Once you are there, it's up to you to make the most of it.

Mr. Collins had a leg up on his competition and did nothing with it. Mean while, undrafted players go on to have pro bowl careers. Unless Les was the one shoving shite down his throat, I don't truly understand how he sabotaged him, furthermore, what benefit would have for Les to do so.

For the record I am black and while I recognize that this site has it's fair share of misguided hatred, I don't think this is the case here at all.

Jalen sucked

I agree. He always played terrible against big time competition and he seemed like a boy among men getting thrown around like a rag doll. Dude was weak.
Buy I never knew he was so MENTALLY weak as to blame his problems on a coach that always tried to do what was right for his players. That’s one thing no one can take away from Les Miles. The man loved those kids. Treated them right too.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard a former player say negative things about Les.
Collins is a bad example and I hope the younger kids see that.

Talk to people who went to school during that time and you'll find out it was a pretty widely known fact Jalen was a selfish PoS who didn't have the work ethic to be elite. He expected the world to cater to him and threw tantrums when he was called out

He was suspended 4 times in 4 years. I'm sure that't on Les. Les made him take PEDs in 2017

The best college coaches, including Saban try to maintain credibility with NFL teams. For every Collins or A. Johnson, there are a handful of players who deserve a second look by the NFL and those coaches are anxious to help those deserving players.
No NFL scout is going to pass up an opportunity to directly ask about discipline, work ethic, locker room, drug issues, regardless of how diplomatically they may put the question. Most coaches are not going to lie.

"It’s always somebody else’s fault in today’s society"

Yep look at our former president Trump. Blamed everyone for his problems even blamed a fictional deep state for stealing an election. When the leader of the free world always blames someone else for his problems and never takes personal responsibility for his actions, the general population will emulate his actions. Trumpican snowflakes many of which pollute this board, are a prime example of people who constantly blame others for their shortcomings. They have the victim mentality perfected.

Get some fricking help man. Serious question. Do you do this everywhere you go IRL. Trump was building hotels when Jalen Collins was flunking pot tests at LSU.

LSU compliance dept are idiots who do nothing but try to sabotage our football program. No other top tier SEC program works so hard to bust their own. They should be working to help these guys not hurt them.

You can't handle the truth can you snowflake. Is the FBI allowing you to use the computer? I was hoping that was part of your bond after storming the capital for your hero lol. Casting stones at someone for blaming others when your hero has done that his entire life.
