Bring it!
I can’t wait for Saturday.

When your scheme is so complicated that your players aren't confident, it doesn't matter if every single one of them were 5* when recruited. The change to this scheme allows them to play more aggressively and with fewer complications. Too complicated of a scheme usually results in thinking too much and not utilizing the athleticism we have to its full potential.
Well we will get "complicated" right off the bat with Leach coming to town. I dont care how much "attacking" we do if we dont get to the QB and alter his play. Leach's QB will throw 50-60 times if he has the chance. If we do not put them away early this could be problematic if we have our thin DB crew still covering the whole field in the 4th quarter with a game in the balance.
I am not really overly concerned because I got to see a good matchup when Wazoo played the Huskies in the Apple cup a couple yrs ago with Minshew as the QB. They were rated pretty good statistically and Wash handled them pretty well. What does worry me though is that at Wazoo and TT Leach was outmanned by his opponents but at MSU he at least will have some semblance of linemen that will match up with the other SEC teams.

im worried about the dline but i see no reason why this defense won't be great

I'm still very optimistic, just hoping its not because of poor offensive play.
Last year's offense was legendary, but in no way do I think this year's offense will be poor. LSU still has a lot of talent on that offense. The RBs have all looked good at times, Mitchell and McMath have the potential to be 1st/2nd round picks, the young WRs supposedly have some lightning speed and Gilbert was the highest recruited TE ever.
If the O-line and Brennan are decent to good, the offense will be really tough again. But yes, last year's D was going up against an offense that basically destroyed the defense of every team on the schedule minus Auburn (point-wise). So we won't know what the D is until they are out there playing in a game.

We are missing Legit DE in this 4-3 scheme it’s gonna he interesting to see how they hold up.

Why is anyone surprised by this?

This.
I love we have Pelini but dink and dunk offenses can be dangerous if they’re overly aggressive. LBs will have to be very disciplined.
This game shouldn’t be too close going in to the fourth quarter. LSU will have settled down but it won’t be a surprise if MSU gets a few scores early.

The defense at the end of last year shut down two elite offenses on the biggest stages. I'd be careful setting the expectation to be light years ahead of that.
It is impossible to think that we were lucky to have both of them.

this is exciting to hear, BUT what if they look so good because the offense is no where close to last year? I kind of makes you wonder. We had absolute studs on D last year, seems a little weird that the D would be that much better after losing so much. I'm still very optimistic, just hoping its not because of poor offensive play.
Are you really out here putting forth the idea that elite coaches and elite players don’t know the difference between a good defense and a bad defense regardless of the offense they’re going against?
Are you honestly saying that the defensive leader at LSU and a national champion head coach is just as football ignorant as you and can’t tell the difference?
I didn’t want to call anyone stupid today but you’re trying my patience.

Aranda made some head scratching moves like at the end of the Alabama game.

You know that the offense and defense goes against each other in practice, right? My point was we haven't seen them against anyone else, yet. They are basing their assumption that they are better by practice alone. You don't think there's a chance they look that much better because the offense isn't to the same caliber yet? I'm not being negative at all and I believe we can have a great defense, it just makes you wonder.

When you have more talent than 99% of the competition I don’t think you need to be too exotic and over-complicate schemes. You just line up and attack because you have better athletes. Especially when you have corners you can leave on an island.

The hype is in full effect, but we have some serious depth issues in the front seven. Sure, we've got some experienced players like Logan, Farrell, Ika, and Clark. But most of the players in the two-deep have substantially less experience, as they are either first-year players (Gaye, Ojulari, White) or have little-to-no meaningful playing time (Moore, Fonua, Evans, Lee). Finally, there's a handful of players who have played some meaningful snaps, but haven't been all that impressive so far (Anthony, Baskerville, Thornton).
IMO the hype train needs to slow TF down, because that front seven is going to lose us at least three games (Florida, Alabama, Auburn).

lol I would put up my knowledge in football any day of the week against you, bud. Of course I'm not saying they don't know what a good defense looks like. Although, ask yourself this, how many times have you seen teams hype up an offense or defense before the year and they don't pan out? You think all of those coaches were just "football ignorant"?

If we can stay healthy, I think we'll split Florida and Auburn.

I think this sums it up. “The Professor” was too analytical for his own good and overthought schemes etc.
