We will play the bowl game but will be a lot of new faces on the field.

unless TDP is nicked up this doesn't make much sense. He isn't a sr so he shouldn't be sitting out.

works for me. It's a meaningless game. Basically a scrimmage for the second and third stringers.

ETA: I should have been more clear...it is definitely meaningless for those with plans to play in the NFL next season...who have proved themselves already in their career.

I hate that mindset but I understand the why...

That’s cool, Kiner and Bradford show. I’d love to see Goodwin but he’s been banged up the whole season.

Well I guess it'll just be a head start on next year, better that the guys that'll be here next year get those practice and game reps

No one should be shocked players are opting out of a meaningless bowl game for a 6-6 team. Especially guys that are looking to get drafted.

LSU actually tried me out for the team.

50/50 I’ll be on the bowl roster.

If he's trying to go to the NFL it can make sense.

going undrafted isn't a great way to get paid.

TDP was a beast then disappeared and finally reappeared a bit this year with a few monster games but then he also disappeared for like 6 games.

He aint making much money without coming back.

Since the bowl game is a jump on spring practice with new coaches and players competing for positions next year, this is fine. We aren't trying to win a championship. We are getting in the extra practices and starting fresh in a new direction.

I look forward to it.

It’s also a later than usual bowl game being January 4th.

for the record, I actually like this approach to have new young guys showing out when a bowl doesn't have any meaning.

the only meaning in this bowl is us keeping our non losing season streak alive.

We’re (college football) going to see less and less players play in bowl games that aren’t in the CFP moving forward.

Love it or hate it, that’s where we’re trending.

it makes sense for the top tier guys that are sure fire round 1 picks. Outside of that its a bit dumb to take a game off your tape.

Some people in this thread will never learn smh

“It’s ok. The game doesn’t mean anything.”

This is the exact kind of precedent we want, right? This is exactly what people were saying when all of the players were opting out and quitting during the Orgeron era. Wake up, people.

This kind of attitude is TOXIC and the same people condoning it will be the same ones who bitch when their college football experience isn’t the same in the future…

I don’t think there are many NFL teams that are going to watch the LSU/Kansas State film to decide to draft a player.

They have multiple other games where the LSU players are actually playing other future pros to compare them to.
