Game 6 btw.

Remember when Eyanson wasn't an SEC starter?

When will y'all learn.

Y'all keep saying this but it's not really comparable to last year. Eyanson had already proven he could be a starter in college baseball, albeit at a lower level. Evans hasn't shown that yet.

I'm not saying he won't come around, but to completely dismiss the concerns for our starting pitching staff simply because of last year is ridiculous.

Perhaps they’ll develop nicely.

I mean, he was very good last year.

They're not hitting the ball hard. Evans is just in his head and missing a small zone.

I'm not really concerned.

If he was still doing this in late March? Yeah I'd say it's time to move him back into the bullpen, but we're not there yet.

Evans has shown that he could go 4-6 innings in the SEC, though.

Like Schmidt has not. I have concerns about him. Evans CAN do it. The only bad extended outing he had last year was against Tennessee, and nearly every run came in the first inning when he was tipping pitches.

Don't know about that. He throws some high velocity and he commands every pitch plus he's huge. If anyone has the potential to start it's him. You never know until you try. I think it's more they're not looking to labor him right now coming off injury and that they'll turn him up more around SEC play.

Kendall can’t even run live stats.

Alcorn State manages to pull that off, but not D1.

tennessee wasn’t even a bad outing

but as a reliever you usually aren’t going 4-5 innings if you’re pitching poorly either

They are not dismissing “concerns”; they are dismissing certitude that Evans isn’t a Friday starter.

And that’s why Evans is a starter. After all of that he locked back in and k’d 2 to stop the bleeding

Yeh I said that in the original post. He was great last year out of the pen in long relief and shaky at times as a starter. He may just be a reliever, but it is early and there is time to show otherwise.

I still say we needed another starter from the portal, like Eyanson was.
