we're gonna have a lot of white boys for LSU standards on defense lol
2025. Useless and pointless to make this distinction

That’s pretty damn high.
Crazy though, the only way your agent has leverage is if you’re willing to leave the school you’re currently at. frick that noise. My son’s agent won’t have that card. That’s a bullshite way to be in college, I don’t care what anyone says. The college you love and play for may look elsewhere to replace you, but until then you gotta ride with place you sign a 4 year scholarship agreement with.

The agent must be responsible for the misinformation then…doesn’t make sense UF just made that up so their fan base would excuse them.

Your son is a kicker. Really good SEC proven players at premium positions like pass rushers get 500k. That's just the world we live in. Pretty sure Walter Nolan got almost a million bucks from Ole Miss.
It's also weird how often you weave your kid into conversations

The money is what it is in this day and age. However, his other (purported) demands probably weren't all that uncommon prior to NIL/transfer portal era. He wants to be a starter and try to be put in more roles as a 3 down player to further develop an opportunity to play in the NFL.
I PROMISE you both Burrow and Daniels didn't come to LSU simply for a chance to "compete" for the job. They wanted assurances of being the starters. Both could have "competed" for starting jobs at their former schools...or anywhere else. They had options in the transfer market and only wanted to go to a place where they knew they would start.
It's not unreasonable for a player to want to be at a school where he will start, and like it or not, the players have a lot of negotiating leverage today. I suspect Kelly/Baker probably told him something along the lines of "We need DE/Edge players for next year. We see you as a guy who can come in and start for us, and if you perform how we expect you to perform we have no reason to think you won't start and play in many 3 down packages. Now, we can't promise another guy won't beat you out. No coach can. But we are bringing you in to be a starter unless you or another players forces us to do otherwise."

Well I have to figure out when to hire an agent…and what really you’re going to get out of it if you handcuff them. We have the contract sitting on the table at home.
I didn’t say Pyburn wasn’t worth it…hopefully he is.
Kickers get ~10% of that if you start.

We coughed up $45k/mo?
That's basically a half a million for a season. Bryce Underwood is getting 3 million a season and he hasn't played one college down of football so if that is actually the number, then it's not really a big deal now is it?

Play the game or get left behind. Nobody likes it, but that's the game. You either evolve or turn to dust.

No. I think it makes sense for kids with 1 year of eligibility left. If he had two years you’d have to assume it’s one and done when he leverages you for more money next time around. Go ahead and get paid…

I compared his numbers to Savion in another thread. This is a big get.

If you a dealing with any type of contract it is wise to hire an attorney to review and advise you. I promise, the person/group making the offer and (presumably) drafting the contract had an attorney draft or at least review it. The benefit of an agent is he/she can serve as your "middle-man" in discussions with other parties so you and/or your son don't have to. Plus, he probably has a better idea of the market place.

I'm calling BS on your current opinion. The game has changed as players have ALL the leverage. 98.4% of CFB players will NEVER see the NFL or get drafted. They have to get their money now and capitalize on schools offering more $$$.
Hypothetically speaking, let's suppose your son wins the starting K job next year as a true FR. He finishes the 2025 year 32-33 FG's, 49-49 XP PATs, and has a long FG made of 64 yds. He wins the Lou Groza, and ALA, ND, TN come calling and offer him $750,000 to enter the portal and transfer. Meanwhile FLA is firm and NIL boosters says we only have $150,000 for your son's NIL deal. IMO, your son, his agent, and YOU will be removing FLA t-shirts from your closets and replacing them with the school that offers lifestyle changing money for a 19 -20 yr old.
Even though my aforementioned situation is hypothetical, it could easily happen especially based on NIL and CFB today. I have no doubt Kirby and Georgia boosters offered Trevor Etienne more $$ which is why he left FLA for UGA last year.
