I still think they need more seats out there. Sure they’d be empty during midweek games and most of the season but I still contend once regionals roll around you could put 20k in there for post season baseball and lsu would make their money back on baseball.
The only way you're cramming more people out there is to get rid of the bleachers and build a larger permanent structure. Create an upper and a lower section with a concourse between them.
I don't see that being high on the priority list, but it would be nice.
I don't see any major box upgrades happening until the basketball arena is complete.

Facilities across the country are going to fall behind unless the NCAA somehow wrangles in NIL. There just isn't enough money to spend on all these things. Maybe if we started cutting sports.

The guy knows what he is talking about and is great at conveying information without a lot of coach speak.
Just watched his presser from a few days ago. Makes me proud to be a Tiger baseball fan.

There's not a coach in any sport in America that doesn't push for more / better facilities. But only a few have the record that CJJ has. You make him sound like he's a greedy ,money grubbing head coach.

Nice!! I mean, how much would this cost?Maybe ten million?

I didn't start the thread. The OP says that Jay keeps complaining that he doesn't have an indoor practice for all of his defensive work.
LSU has supported Jay Johnson greatly. He has asked for a lot (as most coaches do) and he has received a lot. He used to say that his #1 priority was getting the bullpens out of play, and that was accomplished last offseason.
Maybe I'm just getting sick of the way college athletics is all about asking Joe the Fan to fork over more and more money Jay is the highest paid college baseball coach in America. How many of the 11,000 fans in the Box make almost $3.5 million a year like Jay does? How much of his own money is Jay kicking in for his new indoor practice facility? But yet he wants Joe the Fan to give their money for it.
Let's not act like LSU admin, and the fans, haven't more than met the needs of the baseball program.

But you don't want to keep the ball rolling?
Example, today it is thirty degrees outside. The team cant go inside and take infield..
The Gulf coast region is the rainiest region in the United States.
These kids need a big indoor facility to practice while it's raining in the spring
Does the football team allow them to go in there? And use their indoor facility

" Yes Mr Johnson, whatever you want or need, yes right away".
Should be SOP.

He got what he wanted last year. He wanted the bullpens out of play. It was done.

always will be
I'm not sure it will always be a back burner sport now that schools can make money on it. Yes, it's more popular in the south b/c of weather but college baseball has come a LONG way with TV (ESPN now televising all regional and super regionals is UUUGE to grow the game). It will never be on par with football or basketball due to the sheer amount of money from tv for those 2 but the game of college baseball is still growing and NIL will help.

Can you donate directly to the baseball program or does it have to be the whole athletic program ?
Just be careful and understand that most contributions are fungible even though they might say you can direct where it is spent. They might direct the five thousand dollars you give them to an indoor baseball facility then cut the general funding for that facility by five thousand.

Baseball tickets are cheap, relatively speaking
I'd pay more in a heartbeat. They are ridiculously cheap IMO.
The face value from LSU may be cheap, but they resale through SeatGeek for a ridiculous amount. For example, Tennesse tickets on SG last year were like $128/each for grandstand tickets. That's way too much.

Just to get caught up with what we have. Have you seen what they have right now? It's well known amongst aggy's that their player development facilities are among the worst in the SEC. Have you seen the renderings? I have, nothing better than what we have as far as indoor cages, pitching lab, weight room and clubhouse. We already have all that.

Hot take, but raise ticket prices to help fund the upgrades Jay wants.
