you can think BK is the right man for the job but still criticize and hold him accountable.

When he got here, he thought cleaning house was for the best.

In retrospect, he should have kept Baker and Corey Raymond.

It took him 2 years to realize LSU doesn't recruit itself and that he needed big dogs in here bringing the best of the best.

He inherited an absolute mess of a roster. Dude won the west and beat bama his first year and coached a Heisman winning QB in his 2nd year. he has a long track record of success and has earned some benefit of the doubt.

I expect vast improvement and to be knocking on the playoff door by the end of this year.

and for the love of God, schedule Southern/SELU/Grambling or whatever for week 0 next year.

You were doing good until this part.

The idiots of this have no concept.

We are, but the story of season 3 has yet to be written.

It’s not starting this year, and you’re right it is fair to criticize his initial defensive hires. He at least wasn’t so stubborn that he wouldn’t go back and hire someone he initially released.

I think he is obviously a good football coach, but he isn’t above reproach. I think we need to see the story of this season play out.

The question is can he beat the elite teams consistently? His career both here and everywhere else says he can’t and now with the playoffs extending it’s even more important because you’re potentially facing 3 good teams in a row. We’re stuck with him so nobody’s saying fire him but expectations should be adjusted accordingly. We’re now a 2nd tier SEC program.

I don't know of any active coach who has demonstrated this outside of maybe Kirby.

Have all those coaches been failing to do so for nearly 20 years at a major program?

Those that have been around that long, yes.

The others, like Kiffin, have bounced around from major to minor programs.

Time and time again he has shown he cannot consistently beat ranked opponents. We’re in no man’s land with our head coach.

Well I don't know what to tell you except to buckle up. He's here and he's here for awhile.

Nobody’s been around as long as him and been at 2 elite programs without consistently beating good teams.

Clemson is in much worse shape than LSU right now too.

Indeed. And though Norvell isn't an NC winner, as is Florida State. I think out of all the upsets, LSU's still smells the best. Did it suck? Yeah. But it's not the end of the world. Give Nuss a feet wetting year like Burrow got in 2018, crack open a couple beers and let's hustle for a fun season.

He was good enough to right the ship. I think we needed that more than a high ceiling low floor guy. It’s better to go 9-3 or 8-4 every year than risk going 6-6 every year.

Last year, he had the offense to do it, but the defense was horrible. This year the defense is a little better, but the offense is not nearly as good.

I think it will take two more years for everything to fall in place.

Kelly is a good coach, but he needs to get and keep the right players.

I wonder if in 2028 Brian Kelly will have back to back losing seasons and RB10 will still be gurgling Kelly’s balls.

No he's not the answer.

He actually sucks to be honest.

If he had chosen the correct DC last year, he'd be a hero because we would have won the national championship.

But the idiot didn't do that. He chose the worst person possible.

Nothing is acceptable except making the playoffs EVERY year now with the expanded format.

I think we'll be lucky to see the playoffs once every 3 years. We wouldn't have made it in either of his 1st 2 seasons even with 12 teams making it. And this year we are already behind the 8 ball needing to go 10-1 the rest of the way, nearly impossible.

We'll never be 6-6 under Kelly, but the majority of the time we will suffer at least 3 losses. For $10 million, that's not nearly acceptable.

I’m pretty damn sure that anyone with a brain totally understood the firing of O. I mean everyone knew he caught lightning in a bottle. I’m also pretty sure everyone understood the firing of Miles too.

O had trust in Burrow. BK doesn’t trust Nuss and that’s not on Nuss that’s on BK because he’s stuck in his ways of wanting a running QB. Nuss will never reach his full potential because BK will never fully trust him to play his game and be the QB he should be.

What if

The high profile, expensive hire in Brian Kelly ends up not producing the results which we got from Saban, Les & Ed O, which were far less credentialed at the time?
