Hurd, Kling, Pearson, and more not pulling their weight.

Most of the team not really showing effort.

there's a number of guys who haven't developed under Johnson like Kling, Pearson and Neal. Who's fault is that besides Johnson?

It all ultimately falls on the head coach but it just might be that they can’t hit at this level just like Gavin Guidry can’t hit at this level. Not always on the coach. Not every highly regarded prospect can hit in the SEC. Scouting baseball players is hard. There’s a reason that barely half of first round MLB draft picks make it up to bigs.

I mostly agree, but it's hard for Millazo to provide leadership when he's riding the pine instead of catching. He should be catching every game, but I suspect Johnson guaranteed Travinski the chance to catch, and he's trying to keep Neal from transferring.

Pearson hit nearly 300 as a freshman where most of ABs were in SEC play.

They lost the number 1 overall pick and your ace. The best centerfield/ hitter maybe ever. Morgan whose defense was unreal. That’s 3 off the list.

You don’t lose that much talent and have everyone behind them step in and immediately do well. The odds aren’t great on having that many players fill those big shoes.

In his defense, he thought we had extremely good pitching staff because our team couldn’t hit our pitching staff all off season but as it turns out, there was a little detail he overlooked offensively.

Jay is a proven winner at several stops and he is a hard worker. I am confident he will learn a lot from this season and become a better coach in the future.

The players aren't good enough. That's all. You can say Johnson didn't evaluate the talent well enough, but that would include hundreds of others who rated these guys highly and were recruiting them too.

If he misses the NCAA tournament two years in a row (like he did at Arizona), he'll be fired.

Who consistently does "crap" without premiere talent?

it's 2024 and there's a transfer portal. Johnson coaches at LSU. who's fault is it that these allegedly faulty players are on the roster at the #1 college baseball program in America?
