Yes, you pay tuition. Big fricking deal. Season ticket holders pay ticket prices and TAF fees that combined range in the thousands as well. And Alumni pay for essentially everything football related (Indoor facility, practice fields, uniforms, etc). The student athletes would play even if they took away a portion of the student tickets and opened up a new season ticket section. You're not near as important as you like to think.
What a freaking idiot... Like seriously, go die in a fire...

Why? Because I expressed an opinion and apparently it hurt you fragile little feelings? Nut up kid. IDGAF whether you like my opinion or not but the fact remains that there are innumerable students (apparently on this site) that feel as if they and they alone are LSU incarnate and they define LSU. Sorry to burst that bubble.
Yes. Students are the heart and soul of tiger stadium in terms of getting the crowd pumped and the sheer exuberance of passion and fire is what has led to the legendary status. I would know more that most due to 4 years spent in Tiger Band and 2 years in the student section back in the early-mid 2000s. Due to being in the band, I've been to more LSU games than most so I understand the importance. But that being said, they are not the end-all, be-all of LSU and/or Tiger Stadium. The alumni/season ticket hders represent the remaining 65-70 percent and they contribute a great deal themselves.
Point is: this whole "without us (student section), there is no football" is just one massively retarded, self-important statement. Everyone contributes to making Tiger Stadium what it is and always has been known for. Once you realize that, you'll see the bigger picture. Oh and if my comments offend you as such to make you want to tell me to kill myself, then either I'm striking a nerve or you just flat out need to get a pack of midol and tampax for that sandy vagina of yours.

Students are not the "end all, be all of LSU/or Tiger Stadium." That right! Those students are just occupying valuable space that could be sold to those willing to pay a premium ticket price. The increased revenue would be pumped back into the program, just think of what it could build. Wait, there is a name for this, "professional sports", and too many schools are already way to close to crossing the line.

Pay tuition, room and board, textbooks and then another $100 and then get back to me.

Every. Damn. Season.
Every. Damn. Season.

I'm a student and I don't go to games because it costs too much money.
How sad is that? Seems like price should be no issue for a student.

I can't wait for the Bama game when that same section at the top of the student section is empty. People will lose their shite.
Exactly, and its those ppl losing their poop that don't realize that the top is thin because so many have packed in towards the bottom where there are more students then designated seats.

You would hear less of this type of thing from students if other older people weren't suggesting things like decimating the student section and giving their tickets away.

My pleasure dude.
Some idiots on here are clueless.
If you don't like paying the ticket prices and other fees then don't do it but don't cry like a little baby and try to take it out on the students. If you like staying until the clock say 00.00 good for you. Doesn't mean the whole stadium needs to sit there with you and keep your pathetic arse company.
When I see the students and band tucked away in the end zone whereas they both used to be on the 50 yard line it reminds me of all the greed that is screwing up college football. The way things are regressing students will be sitting in the upper deck 50 years from now.

GFY. DIAF. etc
student section makes the stadium what it is

That being said, it's an entire stadium issue, not a student issue.
No there is no issue you just need a life and to mind your own business.

Just my opinion. The student section and the yellow seats next to them always are empty first.
No it isn't.
For some reason you just look at them first.
And it is more apparent because as people leave, everyone moves down.
The SS doesn't empty any faster than any of the lower bowl. Sorry if it grinds your gears that people with better seats leave before you.

Um.
Sorry to burst YOUR bubble, but the students ARE who define LSU.
Non-students might contribute a large amount of gameday atmosphere but how full of yourself you need to be to think that you are still a "part" of LSU.
You are here one day a week, we are here for seven.
What we do reflects directly on the university. It's accomplishments stem largely from our accomplishments.
You set up a tailgate 8 times a year.
But yeah, on those 8 days you help "define" LSU.
Gimmie a break...

At halftime over 50% were gone
So what was the excuse for the rest of the full price paying fans?
I'm sure that's really what we want to do, put a bunch of paying people in the student section so they can bitch because the students yell naughty things and don't sit down.
Louisiana State University, buddy.

Just a question, are you an alumni?

Every year I get older students get a bit more annoying, IMO. But I realize I'm attending a COLLEGE football game so I deal with it because I'm chosing to attend their event.
How the frick do you justify taking the college out of COLLEGE football? Jackass.
