With the departure of of Marshall, Boutte is tied with Jenkins for most catches by a WR (Gilbert now leads in yards and catches). They've seemingly brought him along slowly as the #4 behind Marshall, Racey and Jenkins but now is the time to build for next year. Boutte is probably our most talented WR at this point, he looked really good hauling in that ball on the TD that wasn't vs Aggie.

I can forgive the slight bobble when its preceded by going up over a defender to get to a ball like that. Tell me he doesn't look like Chase in that #1 jersey. Its time to build the passing game around Gilbert, Boutte and Jenkins as the core receivers for 2021.

need to throw him intermediate routes..

the bubbles screens to him are poorly executed and the deep go routes are not high percentage plays

Seems they only throw him slip screens

The play design is lacking and the execution is worse, but if you’ve watched his HS film you’ll see WHY they want to get it in his hands early. He’s dynamic after the catch.

Yeah I meant to hit on that in my OP and left it out. Theres been points where he looked pretty good after the catch on those screens but they haven't done much more to get the ball in his hands.

At this point I can take or leave Racey. He hasn't come on this year like we expected and he's gone next year...unless he decides to use his bonus year

Looks like they are trying to run that same screen to Boutte they caught Clemson on for big play in the 3rd quarter after they came out blitzing a lot. Chase caught it and got a block and had a big gain.

Maybe blockinfnisnjust so ugly. We ran one lash week that went exactly no where.

It would be cool if we ran a bubble screen with Gilbert and Carter blockingZ

McMath is out again so Boutte and Moore will be involved again

We really need to get the ball in Trey Palmer’s hands if he’s healthy

Hope Koy, too.

He catches everything including while taking some big hits.

I was just looking at the roster and we don't have a lot of size at WR anymore. Jenkins is listed at 6'4 and Racey 6'3. But everyone else is 6' or 6'1.

But I guess there's been sort of a shift in WRs beyond the old prototypical sized 6'4 220 pounders. Of the first round receivers in 2020, they ranged from 5"11 to 6'2.

Blatant PI on that play that I haven’t seen anyone talk about.

It seems Jay Ward gets most of his reps for some reason.

The more Boutte the better, I agree.

Noticed the same thing. Apparently taller WRs are out of style at this time.

Koy is going to be a nice slot receiver

Dont think he will ever have the athleticism of jefferson but he will catch everything

Cant wait till next year with Hilton and jojo earle

To me palmer hasnt learned how to be a true receiver yet. You have to manufacture touches for him

Next year will be
Gilbert
Boutte/jenkins
Koy moore/racey if he stays(6th rd)
Palmer/Hilton/ earle

We are poised to reload at all the receiver spots. The amount of talent here has been and still is impressive. Same for QB as compared to most of out teams. Hopefully, Oline gets fixed to allow this talent to show out.
